Hi Folks,

Sorry I've been slack updating members status to donating and thanking people. Or I should say just busy with the little 1.

So a late thank you to you all.

Some of you will notice an upgrade to donating member status and with it access to the new sections. Especially the register of HS30s (sorry if you own an RS30 or GRS30 and wish I had the same data for those cars - I wish I did also, but it's time consuming enough for 240z's!).

@CptZa, @GregTas, @evolutionise, @24 Dat, @GTI-Z (extra thank you for the massive donation!), @HS30-H, @Dragonball240z, @JDM-TOY (likewise thanks for the big donation), @Enzo (can't thank you enough for the ongoing support over the years, thanks again!), @YellowRX, @Daalp1 (thank you, the donation is more than enough don't worry!), @Shaun05 - thank you! , @andyk_79 - Thanks matey!, @peter t, @Brenden, @SiftyZ - I know you're relative new here, so thanks for the big donation, @Mickl, @Andrew_L26

The following donations were received (3) but I couldn't attribute them to a member on here.

  1. Trademark Sign Company (Michael - sorry I forgot your username on here to upgrade your membership please chime).
  2. Anthony who sent a donation after getting free bumpers. Thanks, but not sure which Anthony :).
  3. Dyson your email didn't match the 1 you use on the forum and I think we only have 1 Dyson, but it's not associated with a member name of same.

If you can let me know if it was you I'll update the member group.

We have about 4 months worth of costs in the kitty now. So thanks again.

Thanks Mickl for donating for free part I sent you.

Gav I cannot for the life of me find the details to donate!

can you direct me in the right direction? The other post says see home page but I can’t see any details or links.

this may be something that can be improved? How to donate sticky? Adding a donate button/link on each main forum page?

I have gotten much value from the site and thought it time to give rather than take

Thanks I got the donation and appreciate it. The mobile site is optimised for mobile and as such the side bars are omitted.

I will look at what can be done in future though because majority of visitors these days are on mobile now, not Desktop. Few years ago it was the other way around!

Small rattle of the donation tin!

Also on the topic that Ryan raised earlier @240ZBUILTBYMEmobile users see a different UI that is optimised for their mobile screen, but this excludes showing the donate button. Since majority of traffic now is mobile based I will look at setting up the donation mobile (recently installed an e-commerce module, but been busy with work so haven't had a chance to configure it completely).

Long story short, it will make the donation process more part of the fabric of the website, so I will not have to spend as much admin time matching paypal donations to usernames on the forum etc.. and it will be a subscription basis. Some members are good at setting up regular small donations monthly, which are great. If I could get more of those consistently then it would be a more constant income stream for the site.

Thanks all,

From Lockdown Victoria.

Just an FYI that Donations are helpful, especially because there is a small but modest increase in the annual licence fee for the software that runs the site.

Hello!

I’m writing to you to let you know about a few changes to your Invision Community license.

Don’t worry, it’s not bad news, but there is a price increase, so let’s get that out of the way first and then get onto the good stuff.

We’re switching to annual renewals with a modest price increase. The new renewal cost changes are as follows (per year):

  • Forums: was $50, now $80 (increase of $2.50/month)
  • Blogs: was $20, now $30 (increase of $0.83/month)
  • Gallery: was $20, now $30 (increase of $0.83/month)
  • Downloads: was $20, now $30 (increase of $0.83/month)
  • Pages: was $30, now $45 (increase of $1.25/month)
  • Commerce: was $70, now $95 (increase of $2.08/month)

I realise that price rises are never fun, but it’s worth remembering that the renewal prices haven’t increased since we launched that pricing model for self-hosting licenses over a decade ago.
