For those interested here in a Video on youtube of some of the cars that compete here in NZ in the HMC (Historic Muscle Car) vs the Oz Trans-am series recently from QLD. One thing I would say is I doubt the NZ cars have those kind of HP figures given they must run all iron engines, stock steel body work.

Many of the NZ cars above are the same as those I posted earlier in this video where my good friend Ricky gives them a hurry along in his 240z.

Hope you guys enjoy the action.

My mate Ricky from this weekends racing. Last race of the day for him - a reverse grid so he started 70 seconds behind the first car - he cut out the first 4-5 laps from the video as it was just him playing catch up on his own - so this is the last 4 laps.

The gird is the HMC combined with Under 3.0l Pre 78 Saloons and GTs. HMC = Historic Muscle Cars. The aim of these grids it to have period correct cars running together with only mods available in period so 15" rims is one of the leveling factors.

Gav how about putting in the youtube bbc into the forum - see http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=936

If I didn't already want a V8 muscle car, I now want 1 even more! Although I like rotary vs V8 rivalry and I'd rather be on the rotor side of that debate :).

Sounds funny, I assume it vents straight to atmosphere which is not allowed in Australia is it? You have to have it recirculate into the intake right?

that sounds just like my 280zx turbo, as for atmo blow off, in a 280zx its legal as prior to 1985 pollution laws permitted it, the fact that 280zx turbo came out with a atmo type pop off valve also helps the situation

Great in car from Goodwood festival of speed... 240Z rally car...

Kevin owns 2 outstanding 240z. I am sure hs30-h can tell us more about Kevin's cars but the there have been a few magazines that have covered his barn find and rebuild of the ex works 240z. I believe the one in the video is his non works car but one that has rally history going a long way back in the UK.

Shake down motorkhana laps for my V8 Zed, had just fitted a rear sway bar, new tyres and am getting used to the Zed handling. Runs a 302 windsor (Alloy heads, 288 Cam, 600 Holley blah blah blah) with 5 speed supra gearbox, Arizona Z suspension and brakes, half cage, chasis rails tied in to rear. Weight: 1100kg without driver or fuel.

Hitler reacts to Datsun engine conversions!

The german speech in places is so close!

Yeh, pretty good in places. I'd like to see one about hi power Zeds or EVO's beating Porsches, authentic WW2 connextion with Ferdinand who designed some of the German WW2 military hardware.

Well thats one way to do an engine bay refresh!!!!!  :o

The refresh was a fairly straight forward process, since all the body work had already been done and it was just covered with a black primer. So once everything had been pulled out it just need led a rub back and paint. I would have loved to get the engine pulled and get into a booth but $$$ :(

No need to pull the engine in a z..unlike other cars there is enough clearance in all areas to paint the engine bay just like you did.
