RB26DETT Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 I agree with most of the above that is written. I can appreciate modded and standard cars too. End of the day he would like the car to go to someone that intends to keep it the way it is and not likely to return it to standard. Its true that the new owner is able to do as they wished to the car thereafter once cash is exchanged. But its like selling a house. If you got two same offers (price, conditions etc) and the two group of buyers are 1) first home buyers, young couple - 2) investors. Some may choose one group over the other. I guess live and let live....!!?? Quote

dalee Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 Its back on evil bay again, I am sure I this was on 3-4 months ago. 240z Series 1 No 212 http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Datsun-240z-Series-1-260z-280Z_W0QQitemZ110435337305QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Cars?hash=item19b6758459&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14 THERE IS NO RESERVE THE CAR HAS GOT TO GO. Up for auction is my much loved series one 240z, chassis No.00212 yes thats right build number 212. Australian compliance date is12/1970 so I would assume this vehicle was built either late 1969 or early 1970. It is now painted in a Honda metallic green with the original cream vinyl roof, it started out in life as the pale green datsun colour with the vinyl roof. This a matching series one No's vehicle with the E31 head, choke and throttle control on centre console, speedo starts at 20mph and vents on the rear hatch. What has been done: Engine fully rebuilt with receipts All new suspension, king springs, kyb shocks, all new bushes, and fully adjustable control arms at the rear, and front torsion bars for that perfect wheel alignment. New clutch New brake master cylinder and booster New rear brake cylinders, replaced rear brake shoes Front calipers over hauled, replaced front pads Steering rack overhauled Lukey sports exhaust and extractors Car was repainted just over two years ago, paint is in good condition with only a few minor chips and blemishes, but has a couple of rust bubbles on either door and to rear of passenger wheel well, NO OTHER RUST AT ALL New windscreen, but it got scratched by original chrome wipers so now replaced with plastic ones, so screen does have a couple of scratches All new seals to doors and windows Radiator overhauled, heater core overhauled All new heater and cooling hoses Carpet replaced and in excellent condition Seats are original no cracks but some minor damage to rear of them and to one side of drivers seat, but covered in sheep skin car seat covers to reduce wear and tear Dash has cracks but is covered with a dash mat All gauges serviced and working perfectly even the clock and tacho Tyres BF Goodrich about 40% worn Stereo, cd/mp3 player with ipod connectivity, 6 cd stacker, amplifier and 6 x 9 speakers SAAS steering wheel and gear change knob Front and rear bumper bars have been rechromed and are in excellent condition New voltage regulator All of the above work has been carried out within the past two years. What needs to be done, needs a tune up has been sitting for the past three months and the rust bubbles, then enjoy driving it. Fully road registered in NSW expiry 5/2010 This car could be driven anywhere its very reliable, and a joy to drive. There is no warranty on this vehicle and none implied. Quote

garvice Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 How much rust is under a vinyl roof? Think it looks pretty good too, but would definitely have to get rid of the white. hopefully someone gets a bargain. Quote

stevo_gj Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 How much rust is under a vinyl roof? Depends on the owner really. When we removed the vinyl roof from my car there was very little rust, but the PO was a fanatic about keeping the car undercover and dry. Quote
