  1. Thanks Lurch...it is my plan, but wanted to give it a good crack to sell it privately. It will go to the Healy factory or Shannons. It is not the best time of year to sell the car. The disappointing thing is that no one has inspected the car since I put it up for sale...I think if I leave it at the Healy Factory or Shannons it will sell. Thanks mate.
  2. Can you guys talk about the next drive to organise if I don't make it to the meeting?...and post it. I would like to have an enjoyable drive with some other z's before I sell my car...I am glad in some respects that there is litte interest in my car as I am asking $29K neg for it and everyone seems to want a non-original so they can fix it up or put another engine in it...I will be sad to see it go if it does sell. Hope you all have a great night if I don't make it. Stew.
  3. Hey Guys, The car is still up for sale and on carsales.com.au. A couple of interested parties who have recently gone overseas and will negotiate/view vehicle on return. Please spread the word if anyone is interested in a car that needs not work, fully restored and has not been butched. $30K is negotiable and am happy to keep if i can't sell. Hope to bring it out the next time there is a weekend drive. Cheers, Stew.
  4. Thanks for splitting the topic Gav...appreciate it.
  5. Thanks guys. It was built in 1972 and sold/registered in 1973.
  6. Guys, I have decided to put my car up for sale to invest the money for a house after 3+ years ownership. Lurch has seen my car and is one of the cleanest cars in original condition around (according to him)....regretful sale of course :'( It was restored in 1997 and garaged as a weekend car ever since. No accidents, straight body, no rust, and matching numbers etc. The only thing that is not original on the car is the front spoiler, wheels and stereo which I put on and a 2.5inch exhaust (original restorer) which could always be changed to a nice 2 inch to make it a little more quiet. Daniel Moore from DJM Automotive has maintained the car and knows it better than I. It runs extremely smooth and idles well with nothing more to do to the car. I have seen many cars on this sight and many people spending a lot of time and money on their cars....way more than what this car is selling for. I was fortunate to purchase this car already restored and I invite the smart investor to do the same. I am advertising the car for $****** to see what the interest is like. If anyone is serious about purchasing or needs more details, please call me on 0418 201 998. I live in Melbourne. I will also advertise in the next issue of Unique Cars Magazine. Thanks. Stewart. Attached are some photos;
  7. I will volunteer....Lurch knows my car...he can tell you if it is worth the cut. Stew.
  8. I heard the owner tried to sell it a year ago and would not part with it unless for the right price...so expect it to be passed in again...hopefully it will sell for about $30K+ and it will put a decent price on all our cars I will attend hopefully!!!
  9. I don't know the name, but it is a coded magnetic thing that is hidden within the ignition and the only way to start it is have the matching magnetic thing on the key ring activate it. It is simple and effective. It cost about $200 to install.
  10. Thanks guys...there is a contruction site next door and it only takes one pr!ck builder to tell someone about the car and who can steal it (no offence to the good builders out there). Good news is that the tow truck was able to get it out and it is off to the mechanic to get it fixed like new!!! Remember that it is always good to have an imobilizer...although my 2.5 inch exhaust could have woken me up...if they could have started it
  11. Some mother f@*%!er tried to steal my 240z from my apartment complex in St Kilda (Vic) . They got through the secured gate, lifted up the cover I had on it, and destroyed the ignition system. Luckily I have an emobilizer and must have run out of time to disconnect it. The most annoying thing is that I was driving it back to the farm for storage down the Mornington Peninsula and it was a ripper day to drive...not too hot ......now to the mechanic to fix and an excess to pay > I guess our cars are becoming more appealing as the price goes up. Anyway, I know you guys would understand my anger and pain :'(
  12. Pics of sculptures...
  13. Well, got some pics from the trip...since I was the only one who went on it....was a great drive and only 1.5hrs from meeting spot. It was a little eary with the trees and the fact that it was raining with Melbourne sunny as. We went to a sculpture place with some that survived the fires as they were made out of clay.
  14. So I guess it is just me, the girlfriend and my red Z ...Well, I will be at the meeting spot at 10am and leave at 10:15 if no-one else calls me or shows up....a pity as the weather should be ok. Sorry the others can't make it...look forward to the next run and hopefully some more cars. Stew.
  15. Correct!!! Head out on the Eastern and then continue till we hit Maroondah Hwy. Stay on that until we hit Marysville Rd. Call me on 0418 201 998 if you want to know where we are and you can track us down Stew.
  16. for a change in meeting spot, we need to know who is coming and their location...from there we can pick a more central meeting spot.
  17. REMINDER!!!! The Marysville drive is this weekend. Meeting spot below at 10am and then we will discuss the best direction to get there. We are NOT going to Kinglake at this stage as the trip will be too long. If one of the experienced guys (Craig/Lurch) has any ideas on how to best to direct the trip, please assist. Should we post a phone number for those that can't meet at the meeting spot as it is out of the way? Maybe some can meet halfway etc? Stew.
  18. Wow!!! thats a bit rich...sorry I didn't know.
  19. Guys, We don't have our club/website registered with CAMS...do you think we should? http://www.cams.com.au/en/Sport/Club%20Zone/Club%20Finder.aspx?discipline=All&search=z&state=All&page=1
  20. 260Z for $23K...makes my 240Z worth $28K wouldn't it. I would doubt he would get above $18K for a 260Z? http://www.my105.com.au/classified.asp?id=13157&latest=1
  21. How old are they? How much are you after?...assuming no manifold?...no pics?
  22. Who says money can't buy you happiness...pity his taste is in American tanks that have the handling of a bus.
