Shan Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 The red z on ebay is a great looking package - particularly with the watanabe wheels. That being said - he....is....DREAMIN'. I absolutely LOVE Datto's and appreciate even more the style and lines on the 240z/260z's. As I have previously stated on these forums - I am even looking at buying one, so what I am about to say is said with respect. Now - I am probably gonna cop a bit of flack for saying this, but at the end of the day - it is still a Datsun. No matter how much money he has been spent on it - NO WAY it is worth 40+. "Maybe" one day - yes - they are an appreciating classic afterall (even more so for some specific models in japan). However I will eat my dirty undies if he gets $48K for it here. Unless he lowers it to a respectable price, will still be listed there in 12months.... Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted September 18, 2009 Moderators Posted September 18, 2009 Not that long ago an NDSOC member sold a restored and modified 260Z 2 seater for $45,000. It had to be seen to be believed! Doesn't matter that it's just a Datsun; it's worth as much as the person who wants it! Like a Ford GTHO..it's only a Ford! Just wait, till all the good zeds have found premanent homes and everyone wants one....see where the prices will go. Maybe not here in Oz but in other countries. Quote
OZ001 Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 Its back on evil bay again, I am sure I this was on 3-4 months ago. 240z Series 1 No 212 http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Datsun-240z-Series-1-260z-280Z_W0QQitemZ110435337305QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Cars?hash=item19b6758459&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14 THERE IS NO RESERVE THE CAR HAS GOT TO GO. Up for auction is my much loved series one 240z, chassis No.00212 yes thats right build number 212. Australian compliance date is12/1970 so I would assume this vehicle was built either late 1969 or early 1970. It is now painted in a Honda metallic green with the original cream vinyl roof, it started out in life as the pale green datsun colour with the vinyl roof. This a matching series one No's vehicle with the E31 head, choke and throttle control on centre console, speedo starts at 20mph and vents on the rear hatch. What has been done: Engine fully rebuilt with receipts All new suspension, king springs, kyb shocks, all new bushes, and fully adjustable control arms at the rear, and front torsion bars for that perfect wheel alignment. New clutch New brake master cylinder and booster New rear brake cylinders, replaced rear brake shoes Front calipers over hauled, replaced front pads Steering rack overhauled Lukey sports exhaust and extractors Car was repainted just over two years ago, paint is in good condition with only a few minor chips and blemishes, but has a couple of rust bubbles on either door and to rear of passenger wheel well, NO OTHER RUST AT ALL New windscreen, but it got scratched by original chrome wipers so now replaced with plastic ones, so screen does have a couple of scratches All new seals to doors and windows Radiator overhauled, heater core overhauled All new heater and cooling hoses Carpet replaced and in excellent condition Seats are original no cracks but some minor damage to rear of them and to one side of drivers seat, but covered in sheep skin car seat covers to reduce wear and tear Dash has cracks but is covered with a dash mat All gauges serviced and working perfectly even the clock and tacho Tyres BF Goodrich about 40% worn Stereo, cd/mp3 player with ipod connectivity, 6 cd stacker, amplifier and 6 x 9 speakers SAAS steering wheel and gear change knob Front and rear bumper bars have been rechromed and are in excellent condition New voltage regulator All of the above work has been carried out within the past two years. What needs to be done, needs a tune up has been sitting for the past three months and the rust bubbles, then enjoy driving it. Fully road registered in NSW expiry 5/2010 This car could be driven anywhere its very reliable, and a joy to drive. There is no warranty on this vehicle and none implied. HE TOOK IT OFF AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thje auction was meant to finish on wednesday!!!!! RAGE!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote

Mr240z Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 Datsun 260z 1975 Sports This Datsun is in need of attention. I purchased this car ten years ago and spent some time and money. I have not driven it for about four years. The interior is about 50% as it was broken into and the interior sustained some damage when they stole the radio. Their is minor rust for a car of this age as I originally did a bare metal respray using minimal bog as well. It has been garaged the entire time I owned it. There is some panel damage to the front right quaker that you can just make out on the picture but the panel is salvageable. last time i started it, it had been sitting idol for over a year and it did start. i have not tried for over two years now so I am advertising this as not running. The car is a great starting point as a project that could bring it back to life on a budget or for someone that wants to go all out. This is an original 2 seater not the 2+2 these are rare and are returning at the moment. Bid or buy it now for $6000 http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Datsun-260z-1975-Sports_W0QQitemZ260498877065QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Cars?hash=item3ca6f16a89 Quote

Registered. Original 86649 miles- always garaged and only driven on special occasions This vehicle has had minor rust repairs as would be expected of a car this age, unfortunately (and disappointingly) the paint match done by the panel beater is not 100% correct- still looks very neat. The only other fault with the vehicle is one small tear in the drivers seat (upper boulster?) This car has been extremely well looked after, and is a reluctant sale. For any further information please contact Paul on (03) 5155 5243 BUY it now, $28,000 i don't think so. Quote
