Gav.... interesting that it's at Gosford ....That car was sold from near where I am and I had contacted the seller about having a look at it for original detail information. He was good with that but he had taken a deposit and the car was collected before we could get together....the interesting thing is that he told me the car was being shipped to Western Australia.

Jack Wornock? (Spelling?) I think Gosford have bought the car off the new owner after it changed hands from near you. It was for sale about 1-2 years ago now.

That's a bit presumptuous isn't it? Do you have good reason to suspect a member here?

Also not sure how relevant that is anyway, given any member of the public can register.

Why don't you just give it to Shannons to auction for you? They got a fantastic result for a 2+2 recently.

If you're interested in some genuine advice - remove the disclaimers about photo requests and time wasters - it makes you look intolerant and impatient. Discerning buyers (your target market) won't want to come near you with that sort of stuff on the listing. With numerous failed auctions (all visible to the public) consider advertising at a fixed price - it will help you avoid some of the time wasters you appear so sick of.

I am not being presumptuous at all, I know its a member of this site. I have done my research......google the name...easy.

I appreciate your "Genuine" advice, but i will stick to my professional knowledge of over 25 years in the automotive industry and keep my request for time wasters on the ad. My target market is Genuine buyers and since we have made that addition to our ad we have had less time wasters and more serious inquiries.

I for one don't take offence at all when something I am interested in purchasing states "no time wasters". If you genuinely are in the market to purchase and its what you want, you will get it regardless. The only people who get offended or deterred ARE the time wasters.

The same goes for people who come out to look at a car, spend an hour or so, then say "Yep, love it....its mine, but have to go back and speak to the wife first ??? .

First speak to the wife before looking or just grow some balls and tell her you brought a car. 8)

Anyway, I am not in a hurry to sell the car, I will wait for the right buyer with the right price to come along.

Oh, and YES definitely intolerant . :P

So i have looked at 2 zeds for sale in the last 6 months and both have had very munted/dented/caved in chasis rails both sides and in 1 case the full length.

Is this a common issue or am i just looking at beaten up cars lol.

Am guessing an expensive fix as i do not do bodywork myself ?

Lots of S30z's have had a hard life up to this point. So not uncommon to have major rust and or accident history.

You can burn through a lot of money with bodywork. Panels or good ones are getting hard to source locally.

I haven't seen the 240z above in person but I think it has a lot going for it including original radio. I think surface rust makes it look worse than it is.

Call seller and ask to have a look he sells a lot of S30z's. Isaac should be able to let you get it on a hoist for inspection too.

Location is Mt Isa - typical remote location for a scam ad

There is no such thing as a 1974 240Z (unless you count those first registered in 1974 - in which case I have one  ;D ).

I have reported this to Gumtree - so it may have been deleted by the time you see this

I saw this car at Sydney Datsun Day. Very tidy car that's obviously had a lot of work put into it. Owner runs his own metal fabrication business.

The seller was obviously keyword mining to maximise hits on his listing. Pretty funny because it mentions pretty much every car I have ever searched on Gumtree in one link!

It's a 71 in 907 Green. It has Datsun badges all over it. Not Fairlady Z parts. No doubt an HS30.

Good buy looks very original with Topy steel wheels and Hitachi head unit.

Really hard to tell from photos, but aside from the bonnet it doesn't look to have to much rust.

That hatch looks particulary good.

So you paid a deposit and it was still sold to someone else?
