"Hey guys

Up for sale is my beloved 260z 2+2 with an RB30ET conversion.

 

The bad:

Ill start with this since its only fair you know what you are getting into.

The car is an unfinished project, it is not perfect but these are getting rarer and rarer and you will never loose out on them. I purchased the car about 18 months ago and have since gotten it on the road, fixed it up to this point and done the conversion. It does have some rust (can send photos) but none that it structural mainly just surface (rust is a Datsun thing so if you find one without any you deserve a medal). We replaced the head gasket and studs about 250kms ago but now the rings have given way. Comp test showed 150-70-150-30-120-150. I have no idea how many ks are on the engine but bores were clean and there are no noises or knocks or anything. Spedo and rpm gauge not wired in yet. Rego runs out end of this month but i already have a pink slip and rego can be negotiated with the sale.

 

The good:

74 260z 2+2 (low chassis number 7**) one of the first made.

 

Engine:

Rb30et engine and loom out of a VL (A8 block)

New head MLS head gasket and studs

Turbo smart boost controller

Turbosmart boost gauge

Bosch 044 pump

2 1/2 straight pipe exhaust

Front mount with 3" piping

Forward facing plenum

ford xf throttle body

Rodshop mounts

R31 box

Modified sump

New CAS

New leads

BBS Rs wheels rebarreled and rebuilt by barrel bros.

15x10.5-29 15x11.5-37

Nankang 225/55 and sumitomo 265/50

Bc Racing coilovers with camber tops

CS racing caster arms

New front wheel bearings

Jendosa fender flares

Retro front lip

Fender mirrors

new front angle eye headlights

Replaced front scuttle and rear hatch (no rust)

240k steering wheel

Fuel pump and thermo fan switches

New carpet.

Seats in great condition for age

new weather seals

Underside and wheel arches have been coated in undercarriage tar.

Plates will come with it

 

Spares:

Hilux 4 pot callipers

Cobra style bucket seats

Front and rear bumpers

Set of chrome trim

Stock door cards (black)

Random other interior panels

Rear light assembly

Brand new Surge tank with Bosch lift pump and brand new Bosch 044 pump

Injector service kit

Bits of braided lines and connectors

Catch can setup

A whole box of 3 1/2" intercooler piping

 

Located western Sydney. Not in a rush to sell so no lowball offers, but in saying that its only worth what people are willing to pay. Check out the other Dattos on car sales and gumtree if you need help.

that is def a rip off when you can buy them for less actually around the 55k mark - if you were going to restore it and ask for that much how about keep the original colour another 15-20k and you could buy a genuine gtr version

I don't think you can get one for 55k anymore in Aus. Looking at prices as of late on japanese auction sites, a gtr clone landed and complied one would cost around 80k.

Looks a bit pricey to me.

For a $110k car you'd think they might give a bit more detail in the ad. They could of basically said nothing and let the pictures do the talking.

Not that it matters, they'd have to pay me to take it in that colour. ;)

Just spoke to the owner. He's had it for a few months and stated his only purpose for buying it was to make money and capitalise on it. Seemed like an asshole judging from his greedy attitude. I asked how much he's after and he say's "$35,000".... Worth it? I don't know.. but I'm not going to make him any money.

GTR Clone for sale. Sigh if only I had enough money for one.

 

For that kind of money he could have painted the engine bay and boot blue as well. Or better yet he should have left the car silver!

And no A/C........at least it has power steering.

Said 35k to me. Perhaps he's getting bombarded interest so thought it'd be a good idea to raise the price and see who takes the bait. Possibly the worst selling reason you can tell a potential buyer though, lol. There seem to be an awful lot of selfish people getting in on the Zed market to make money for themselves, which is an annoying struggle for genuine buyers that would rather keep the car and enjoy it.

I don't know what auctions your looking at but even with yahoo auctions are cheaper so I can guarantee the Japanese auctions will be cheaper -

Not surprising

why do you say that? asking for too much to begin with? or because it is in pieces somewhat, and there are other issues?
