Nope, a 260z has a simple "slide type" single pole double throw (center off) switch while the 240z has a complicated toggle/rocker type "switch" that I read could be described as a modified double pole double throw (center off) switch. Not sure about the light stalk/switch wiring.

Yep, hard to tell how the core dimensions compare but the shorter copper hard lines could be replaced / extended to suit.

From my (fading) memory, this gate never had the shiny silver hot dip gal "crystaline" finish, it was always a dull grey colour. One has to ask, given the benefits of zinc for rust prevention, how do the alternatives POR15 and KBS rust seal achieve their "rust protection" properties - is it just through "sealing" out oxygen/moisture from contacting the metal?

A search of the forums only turns up one reference to using Cold Gal(v) as a rust prevention coating whilst there are more mentions of using POR15 and KBS rust seal paint treatments. Not sure of the principal behind the POR15 and KBS paints however given the proven characteristics of galvanising I suspect the cold gal(v) type paints with >90% zinc content would be the better option especially when painted onto the bare metal as an undercoat either on internals of the doors/hatch, the floor pans and/or on the underbody. The photo below shows how a fence/gate post in a coastal location (~100m from the beach) has survived 50 years of salt exposure with a coat of cold gal(v) whilst the barbed wire has not fared well! Anyone used Cold Gal on their Zed?

Back to the farm to work on the Zed. Put in the internal sound deadener to replace the factory sisal and rubber under the carpet and installed the Kia door seal as the internal rear hatch seal (with about 3cms to spare). After a couple of test drives I tried out the internal heater and yes the inevitable happened there was a leak of coolant and it appeared the heater stop cock was leaking so I had to then remove just about everything for under the dash to extract the unit and do the required repairs. The offending item. After syncing the carbs and adjusting the idle speed and mix screws out for another drive to check on other roadworthy requirements. Found a nice 370Z on the way. So almost ready for the pre rego roadworthy, just need to get the windscreen wipers to reliably operate along with the internal blower/fan that only operates randomly and then see what works best for the PCV requirements for it to be a closed circuit (ie not just a filter on the rocker cover ;-( )

If you do, be aware the front and back bushes are different sizes and the workshop manual states the large fixing bolts on the ends should be tightened / torqued up with the car loaded with the equivalent weight of two small adults sitting in the car as well as a full tank fuel.

IMHO the original rubber type will be better for road driving but you will pay more for them.
