  2. Great post, thanks for all of the detailed info and photos !! Just wondering, does it have a fresh air intake as well or does it just recirculate the cabin air?
  3. For that price I would go for the OS Giken TC24-B1Z https://www.greenline.jp/catalogue/bproduct.php?category=engine&subtype=Engine, Head and Short Block Assemblies&brand=OS Giken&series=&name=TC24-B1Z Complete Engine&fromlink=1
  4. The factory fuel rail has the return built into it.
  5. Probably the only option anyway as I understand a set of the OEM type rubber ones are NLA.
  6. And (hopefully) by the time you have the car back on the road the WA Govt. may have in place their proposed classic car rego scheme (similar to that in NSW/Vic) : https://www.transport.wa.gov.au/licensing/concessions.asp Work has commenced on regulatory changes to introduce the Concessions for Classics scheme (C4C) – a voluntary conditional licensing scheme which will be available to eligible street rods and vehicles manufactured prior to 1990, including motorcycles. A vehicle licensed under the C4C scheme: can be used for a maximum of 90 days annually, being 60 days to participate in approved motoring club sanctioned events; and 30 days for personal use, testing, maintenance and repair. cannot be used for fee, hire or reward; and must display an approved plate or label stating ‘restricted use’, which is to be affixed to the top or bottom of the vehicle number plate(s) to identify that the vehicle has restricted road use. Vehicle owners who wish to apply for the C4C scheme will need to be a financial member of a DoT approved motoring. DoT approved motoring clubs will be required to maintain a record of vehicle use by their members for auditing and compliance with the scheme. Eligible vehicle owners who apply for the scheme will receive a 75% vehicle licence fee discount, along with a reduced motor injury insurance premium. COVID-19 has delayed the implementation of this initiative however DoT is continuing to progress the legislative changes and upgrading systems to support the Concessions for Classics scheme.
  7. Congratulations, you will be busy on multiple fronts for many years
  8. Seems that other than the windscreens all other 2 seater glass is NLA. :-(

The car was an exciting project when i HAD a job haha so now just want it sold so if interested.
  10. You need to know what the final specs of your engine will be prior to getting the dcoe carbies, as you do not want to have to change the "standard" jetting/tubes etc. as this can be expensive.
  11. Not much info on his original topic :
  12. There were no photos of the body shell, just photos showing the removable panels and doors (which were all replacements), refurbished dash, replacement floor panles, 3 x sets of roundtop carbies/manifolds/air filters. The text of the advert: $25,000 Golden Square Seller's Description #96 Does need repair in the front which I wasn’t worried about as most need repairs somewhere anyway. I was sourcing any bits required from Klassicfab in Columbia as they are doing pressings as original. Does come with the E31 head and E31 block , 3 Sets of su’s and two early gearbox’s with one of them being rebuilt. All new glass correct to period, new front bar, new bonnet, rust free front guards and Various spare sections/ panels. I’ve also purchased lots of new old stock from USA. Any early Z will require a lot of work unless u buy a restored one and this one would require a full restoration as per original spec and I would only like to sell it if that was the case. Please contact me if interested for more photos of parts included- Also note NO photos are available of the car and happy for any inspection. Comes with parts cars 260Z for various nuts and bolts etc.
  13. I used "Eastwood internal frame coating" for rust protection (ie not conversion): http://www.ppcco.com.au/eastwood83.html For the rear hatch I removed the hatch and sprayed heaps into the cavity areas and then rotated the hatch so that the pooled liquid flowed around all four sides to ensure a good coating at the seam between the internal and external panel.
  14. Have a drink at the Anglers Rest/Blue Duck Inn pub if you get the chance, an interesting twisty drive and a nice place.

I've just turned 79 and now realize I can't really justify owning this lovely 260Z. If I was 20/30 years younger....different story.
  16. Was this the case before you rebuilt the rear suspension and the binding was keeping the car sitting lower at the rear? Fitting the Kings lowering springs seems the only way to resolve this, as the springs you have in now may not be OEM?

  18. Yep currently in Perth and fixing up my daughters car.
  19. Allow at least 2 hours in the shop, as you will find yourself just walking around looking at all the gear they have.
  20. Great progress, small measured and well executed steps are best Unless the flanges on the intake and exhaust manifold are the same thickness then it will be hard to get a good seal.
  21. Maybe they know of this shop in Perth : Automotive Paint Tools & Equipment 14 Gibbs St, East Cannington WA 6107 It is an Aladdin's cave of car resto tools and equipment :
  22. Yes, I was not advocating getting into currency trading -should have added a wink
  23. You should take up currency trading - looks like you picked the top, Aus dollar down again today.
