  2. Drum roll...............................and the results are?
  3. The real reason for the 720 ? http://www.speedhunters.com/2016/08/clean-720-ode-minitruck/
  4. A good video about the internal workings of an SU carb (although this one is an HIF) : Also this one : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e15QlVLjJiU
  5. A complete system for you : https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/wareemba/other-parts-accessories/datsun-260z-2-2-full-ac-unit/1258011587
  6. A video explaining the key components (of an HIF SU carb) and how they interact with the performance at various throttle positions :
  7. Even @Hayden may be interested.
  8. Did they have to change any of the Weber jets etc? or did they just synchronise the carbs and adjust the idle mixtures and speed settings?
  9. Not to mention the 260Z 2+2 prices on CarSales.
  10. Interested to know what choke & emulsion tube / jetting sizes etc. you have in your Weber45 carbs (or end up with post tuning) - if you could post this information along with the dyno info it would be great.
  11. Strange that these issues were not corrected in the latter S30 models as I imagine they showed up in the 240Z cars that were rallied by Nissan.
  12. Apart from the obvious, why the addition of the rear side handles and rear "steps"?
  13. I used rubber bushes (mostly OEM) other than those for the sway bar mounts. Very hard to find a set of rubber steering rack mount bushes now, so polyurethane seems the only option.
  14. And for road driving, most of this seems to relate to steering responsiveness with urethane bushes on the steering rack and coupling (?maybe the front LCA bushes?) giving a much more direct feel. As for the rest (without having had a direct comparison) I feel the OEM/rubber would be a better option for road use. That being said, I did use some front sway bar link pin bushes for the vx, vy, vz Commodore and they worked very well For the rear LCA bushes, I went with the OEM from PartsForNissans
  15. Are polyurethane bushes better than the OEM ones for the front/rear lower control arms?
  16. Hi Gerson, Please let us all know when you have made some front fenders (preferably some without the side turn signal cut out)? Many thanks :-)
  17. He said he had already bought a 240z but then rampaged on about now only wanting to pay $15k for a shell. It appears now he is so distressed about the whole thing he has his ?sister? advertising on his behalf on Gumtree?
  18. Seems (s)he may still be looking and has not lost the attitude : https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/brisbane-city/cars-vans-utes/wtb-240z-shell-15k/1250241628
  19. Unfortunately (on the 260z system) not, there are also some diaphragms that are controlled by vacuum system, as shown below.
  20. That is correct however, once the air con failed, it appears the first thing done is to remove anything air con related from the engine bay. Have one Mine on the left, A/C replacement to be installed on the right.
  21. I am going down the same route (but easier with a 260z) and interested to know what you will be doing for the vacuum parts/controls?
  22. Maybe look at getting some JIS screwdrivers as on Japanese cars the "Phillips" style screws are actually based on the Japanese Industrial Standard and are just different enough that using Phillips head screwdrivers to try and unscrew seized JIS screws can result in stripping / rounding of the screw heads.
