Yes, the lack of a spare wheel well seems to be a giveaway (assuming it is a factory mod)

240ZBUILTBYME - Project Georgia
AndBir replied to 240ZBUILTBYME's topic in Members Project(s) Journal
Wise decision. Given the blu-tack "patch" near the strut tower filling a large hole on the floor and now this, there must have been water sitting in the rear floor area for quite some time :-( -
And I see the translated comments say "Due to various reasons, we cannot answer any questions regarding this vehicle body."

Not sure if this has been posted before but I just came across it :

Let us know what you think of them. I have to get the replacement rubber bit/scraper (officially known as outer door belting) and will need to check the measurements of mine versus the Aveska product referenced in my post above.
-
Hopefully not part# : 800-2272 as I looked at this and it is a poor replica for the OEM part.
-
Found them when doing some "Google" research last year for my planned installation of A/C into my 1974 260z.

This may work : https://www.aveska.com.au/door-belt-extrusion-ma2-2.4-m-length Door Belt – Universal Weather Strip – Steel Re-inforced, with a Flock Coated Rubber Glass Lip, PLUS a Rubber Lip to Body of Vehicle, for improved water resistance. – 2.40 metre length

Seems that diagram probably relates to JDM Fairlady Z cars. Based on the engine bay photo below the drier must have been mounted below the coil.
-
Yep, but it appears they then ran one behind the engine and then towards the fuel filter But then on a drawing of the layout of a 240z system it shows :

Cars For Sale (3rd Party Sites) Ebay, Carsales etc..
AndBir replied to gav240z's topic in Cars For Sale
Datsun 260z 2 seater $47,000 Kardinya, WA https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/kardinya/cars-vans-utes/datsun-260z-2-seater/1276569861 Car is original apart from being converted to manual, and having had a re-spray in 2001. Original matching numbers engine is with the car and was rebuilt in around 2005 to original specs by previous owner in Adelaide. It has done less than 20,000 kms since! The previous owner had doors, bonnet and hatch taken off, stripped:acid dipped and resprayed before the car was re-sprayed and they were reinstalled. The engine bay and underneath of the car are original, with the under side having rust protection applied by the dealership. Original colour code sticker is still in place on top of rad support panel. there are a few rust spots on the car, but this is an original car that has not been painted for 20 years, so, this is not like a just painted vehicle hiding secrets! Car has lightened flywheel, 4.11 rebuilt diff (open unfortunately), 280zx alternator and distributor, headers and as new exhaust, triple 45 DCOE Weber’s (also set of 240z carbs on 260z inlet manifold seperate). Car puts 101kw to the rear, despite being a dished top piston engine with low compression. If performance is your thing, I’m part way through a road performance L28 build with Les Collins, and have money sitting in that build which can be discussed over the phone and with Les, should you be interested in taking that on also. Aim is 240hp, but in depth specs can be discussed with me if you are keen, and with Les. Interior is absolutely first class with brand new door cards, centre console, beautiful crack free dash, new steering wheel and horn pad, new scuff plates, original radio sourced and fitted and more. Seats are from an mx5 and are really nice, along with brand new seat belts. I have a set of original 240 z seats, spare cam and a few other parts also. Running king spring lows, nolathane suspension bushes, new outer tie rod ends, 200SX front discs with 2 pot callipers. Also running on genuine 15 inch watanabe mags worth approx $2,500, deep dish on rear, but non dish on front. I have someone interested prior to advertising but have advertised as it will discourage me from backing out of selling -
The online source of second hand parts in Aus seems to have dried up in the last 12-18 months as people have either decided to keep their parts stash or not part out their rusted hulks.

Overpriced Z parts - what have you seen?
AndBir replied to AndBir's topic in Parts and Tools for Sale
The seller certainly has a lot of pricey parts : https://www.ebay.com.au/sch/azariar/m.html?item=254902609929&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562 -
Me posting a video of Larry's :
-
I will be parting out a 1976 2+2 soon, let me know what you need and I can check if it is still in the car.
-
Another from Larry showing "One of 37 Factory-Restored Z Cars" Got to get those hose clamps facing the correct way :-)
-
Are you wanting it to be factory correct or just what works best? Pics of 260z with factory a/c seems to indicate the dryer was located on the strut tower adjacent to the fuel filter. I presume this was the case as the outlet from the air con condenser radiator was on the driver's side of the car.
-
Nice to have this garage of cars (not so keen on the rally replica though).

From what I read, you DO need to alter the firewall to give the same rigidity where the rhd steering and brake/clutch components are to be mounted and then seal up any old (now unused) firewall holes. But, unlike in the USA (rhd to lhd), you do not need to cut out the entire firewall from a donor and use this as a replacement section. As mentioned, better to discuss this with an expert.

Hopefully the civil unrest in Columbia does not worsen and disrupt manufacturing at KFvintagejdm. I see they are hoping to have full rear quarter panels available around Aug/Sept.
-
Based on my early 260z there is cream coloured "primer" on the parts of the body that may have had stone chip coating but internally still had the grey primer.

In country Victoria from a 2+2 that was included when I purchased my 2 seater and I am now parting out. Front has surface rust staining from the bonnet but is otherwise in good shape PM me if you are interested and we can discuss price/shipping.

Overall the inline 6 compares very well with other 6 cylinder layouts : (Yes, the flat 6 can go to higher rpms, but a much more complex engine)
