  1. Parting out a 7/76 260z 2+2 auto and wanting $450 ono for the L26 engine (L26-151716). Engine has not run in a long time so overall condition is not known - starter motor was removed. (All other running gear from this car is also available). Can be delivered to Melbourne or places between Bairnsdale and Melbourne.
  2. Just following up on if you have a list of parts you need? I have already sold quite a bit to @marcusm and @Oliphips who will be collecting a load in January to take back to Adelaide. Let me know sooner rather than later as after Feb the car will be gone one way or the other.
  3. Seems cheap - off loading stock or is quality/fitment not good? https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/133370434755?hash=item1f0d7f54c3:g:53YAAOSwFLReeu-U
  4. IMHO, a buyer (and therefore eventual owner) looks for a 240z as it was the first of the series even though there much fewer 260z (2 seaters). With both the 240 and 260 the critical criteria is the presence of rust especially in the hidden "structural" parts of the car as these will be the most expensive areas to repair. Originality is owner specific and in many cases only a factor when an owner decides to sell and talks it up to substantiate a higher price.
  5. True, for money yet to be spent it pushes up prices but spent/borrowed money is then "cheaper". In the past people's wages would increase to cover inflation but not so much now. The hidden benefit of inflation is that the "real"/current value of borrowed money decreases (ie your mortgage) so as long as the RBA does not go stupid and push up interest rates you could say you can be better off.
  6. Have you found a set of rubber steering rack bushes?
  7. A realistic advert : Datsun 240z s30 Fairly complete. Manual l24. Not running. Rust has got the best of it. Not selling parts. Looking for offers https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/atherton/cars-vans-utes/wts-datsun-240z-s30/1285025774
  8. This is the only place I could find with the LH seal (which can be used on either side of a Zed) : https://www.kiapartsnow.com/genuine/kia-wthstp-frt-door~0k01859760b.html They seem to have more than 5 in stock and do PayPal
  9. Koraps no longer in business Kia may have discontinued the door seals
  10. I used the Kia Sportage seals and they worked very well. The item numbers are : 0K01859760B and 0K01858760B Seems Kia may not be making these any more but some online suppliers still have stock:
  11. Yep it is a PITA, but somewhat easier on the later 260z doors as the bottom opening is larger. It certainly makes the door sound much more solid when it is closed, hard to tell about the noise-thermal benefit though. Wish I had thought of that at the time
  12. Do you plan on using the acoustic/thermal insulation in the doors and rear quarters?
  13. A $2.50 washer but costs $122.50 for postage https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/313738058072?hash=item490c3ed958:g:wnMAAOSwXj5aqUkE
  14. Whilst from an early 260Z, mine has hand painted black paint on the seat mounting areas adjacent to the doors.
  15. Started at $70,000 Dropped to $60,000 Now down to $50,000
  16. Maybe you can adapt the Harada Shokai linkage parts (not hex rod) : Even see if you can put one of these on the end of the hex rod : http://www.jcy.co.jp/hrd/m-l6l4-joint.htm
  17. When I fitted my triples I did not need to cut up/change any of the original linkages.
  18. I did mine through Lilydale & District Car Club Of Victoria : https://www.facebook.com/groups/1592213514394877/ Otherwise trawl through the clubs here : https://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/registration/limited-use-permits/club-permit-scheme/car-clubs-and-associations
  19. Still looking @Reearooni ? https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/callala-bay/cars-vans-utes/1982-nissan-280-zx-2-2-t-bar-roof-automatic-coupe/1283321264
  20. Probably Lindsay (Z Shop)?
  21. Might need to spray some rust preventative in through the hole before filling? https://thumbs.gfycat.com/BriefWarmheartedAzurevase-mobile.mp4 Or maybe it can be reached from inside?
  22. 1977 Datsun 2seater 2.6L 260z : $100,000 neg Gorokan, NSW https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/gorokan/cars-vans-utes/1977-datsun-2seater-2-6l-260z/1282964540 1977 Datsun 260z Was immaculated restored 18yrs ago and has been garaged ever since motor was rebuilt 15yds ago and has been going on a once a year drive since. Has minor rust in floor
  23. I doubt "his friend" will even end up in Brisbane as the 280zx was auctioned in Melbourne. At least this whole debacle showed Reearooni what the "market" prices are vs those on Gumtree/Carsales listings.
