  1. Hi Gav, plenty, not a 100% yet, still working on the list. door sills, rear quarters, internal mudguards, maybe the rear bottom panel A bit like Jeffs 240 project
  2. I was just going to post a question regarding this, so thanks gav240z. Ive just put my 240 vin 317, also in 907 green into the shop to get straightened, and i need a few body panels. Out of all those suppliers , who supplies the best fitting panels? heres a photo of the dato
  3. Finally getting things moving, off to the shop for some body resto. Who supplies the best fitting replacement panels?
  4. Hi guys, thanks for the info. Gav- yes original colour 907, still has the sticker. I'll be repainting it as per original colour when we get to that bit. Vin 317 Next week im getting it blasted, garnet interior, underside and engine bay, soda for the panels, then epoxy primer as you suggested. Does the epoxy primer determine what the kind of paint needs to be used later on. Was hoping to use an acrylic simply for ease of use (supposedly) Ive just been reading on here about rust prevention treatment, so I'm assuming everywhere that the paint doesn't reach is where the treatment is applied? Is there a forum topic on the site that addresses how to remove the rusty panel in the photo, and where is a good place to buy the replacements? I've had a look but there is so much great info on the site its hard to find.
  5. So I finally have the 240 ready to start the bodywork, just need to finish the rotisserie My thoughts were to get the underside, engine bay, and interior blasted with garnet. And then paint strip all body panels. Thoughts on this process, and any suggestions for a blaster in Melbourne who knows what they are doing would be appreciated cheers
  6. hey thanks everyone, conclusion is its a 1970! Great having this site available with so much knowledge out there cheers, will be back with a ton more questions as the car progresses
  7. Hi all, here is my Z which I'm going to restore, VIN 317. Am I correct in saying its 1969? The original colour was the green, was the Australian imported cars the same colours as the US paint codes?, the seats look blue, what colour would they have been originally, assuming they have been recovered. Also, the side mirrors are odd, with the front left swaying in, instead of out. Did the early models come with these front guard mirrors or have they been added later on? It has the air vents on the hatch, and no holes in the steering wheel spokes which i have read means its a 69. Just want to get my facts straight. The hubcaps have a Z on them, and i thought they should of had a D. Can anyone help me with some info Cheers
  8. hi guys, I think i need to talk to ben also, is he in Melbourne, or Tas? if he's Melbourne could I get his details from you?
  9. thanks for the tips, it's going to be a great project! The Car # HS30 00317, engine # L24 21408 The chassis looks reasonable, need to clean it though to have a good look, and the rear hatch hinges look fine, fingers crossed. The inside of bonnet at the very front tip is bit rusty, looks like a tricky job, might need some advice when i get to that. cheers
  10. Found this 240 in my father in laws garage. Has been there for 6 years and couldn't believe my luck when mother in law wanted to park the caravan in there and get rid of this beauty. So now it's mine  . So now I need to know where to start. It's running, sounds great!, and as a first restore project I don't want to get to get in too far over my head. Body needs work, was green, now white. Is the best bet to start taking everything out/off, fix rust that I find (buy a mig), respray, then put everything back in? or just work on bits at a time. Do you spray engine bay separately, then do the body when all mechanics etc are sorted. I'm after a method that will allow me to get it on the road sooner rather than later, but still knowing that it's been done right and not hanging together with bog etc. I've ordered the Z car restoration book, but some experienced advise would be great.
