  1. Hey guys, If anyone has their cars up on stands currently could you please snap a photo of the handbrake cable at the brake drum end and confirm they look like this? http://www.thezstore.com/store/graphics/00000001/large245151.jpg I suspect my handbrake has been replaced in the past as the ends on my handbrake cables are fatter (for lack of a better word), don't allow me to insert the retaining clip to hold them in the bracket and I would like confirmation that I'm right before I go and order a new cable!
  2. I did that also, but I used one of these babies to scrape a much larger amount of material off the cylinder walls!
  3. Just a suggestion for those doing this job, get a hone tool and give the struts a quick going over. I found the spindle pins had seized because of ovality in the struts and also excess material in the middle of the cylinder where the locking screw goes.
  4. That 1600 Sports is sold pending payment in case anyone was interested
  5. It was a really diverse mix... There was a bit of everything! My fave car had to be Adam's genuine group C 240K race car
  6. I was there and Holy Moley it was freezing! I thought it was a pretty good turnout considering just how terrible the weather was... maybe 50+ cars? I'm with Dimitri I think, I need to fix my fan blower!
  7. Got brackets, cheers Locky! Now, who has any leads for rear deck/cargo area carpet?
  8. Hey guys, I'm chasing a rear hatch carpet if anyone has one spare, or if anyone knows a reasonably priced trimmer or carpet place that isn't going to take forever to make one I'm open to that as well. I'm also chasing a pair of rear handbrake retaining brackets that bolt onto the rear struts (circled in red on the attached photo). I'm looking for these items pretty urgently so if anyone has some please respond below. Thanks
  9. not sure if anyone has bothered to read the description... but they could not have got it more wrong!
  10. I've used Ferntree Gully Nissan a few times and found the service was great, although admittedly I go see them with part numbers in hand
  11. I'll be there, might be zedless though if I can't get it out of primer... again!
  12. Like I said on Facebook, that is incredibly disappointing for a vehicle of this supposed caliber!
  13. it would be good to see that engine strapped to the Rebello dyno. I want to see that thing kick their asses to kingdom come!
  14. I'll be interested in ('75) 260Z chassis rails and lower rad support if you get around to making them!
  15. Who cares what he paid for it? If he got a bargain it doesn't mean he has to sell it for one, that's why there is a thing called market value! For the record I think $16k is a fair price for Sam's car considering how much people pay for disassembled and partly completed snot buckets.
  16. You're both half right. E85 reduces the intake charge temperature in the combustion chamber and also has a much higher octane rating than conventional gasoline. Both of these factors lead E85 to be detonation resistant, meaning engines can run a higher static CR, more timing and higher levels of boost.
  17. If the sale falls through I'm all over it. I'm even local!
  18. I was at the flying fifty as well and I have to say I was a bit disappointed not to see Dadson Racing making an official outing... Next time I hope
  19. Mine needs that front radiator support panel patched up too! Good to see you will have already had some practice on it Locky
  20. I paid $140 for the Pierburg 2 years ago and currently run it on my triples setup with a Malpassi FPR set at 3psi. The combination is great... just run a relay to the fuel pump otherwise the factory wiring delivers variable voltage depending on the electrical load of the car.
  21. They appear to be in the "fixing" phase of the 240Z. While I agree some of the stuff they do is really lacking in taste/boy racer but I think that's pretty consistent with what I see with most modified cars in the UK (google paints a painful picture). At the end of the day it will probably still be fixed/modified to a higher standard than the majority of old Datsuns have been in the past.
  22. Hey everyone, I am moving to Perth for a few months for work purposes next week and I am trying to think of things to see and do that are car related! What Nissan/Datsun/Z owners clubs are around these days and what would be the best way of poking my head in and getting a glimpse of the Perth car scene? Thanks, Alex
