  1. Thats some high quality work, love that door fabrication!
  2. I think I saw this on Sunday at the Nissan Z launch event? I couldn't hang around long so I didn't get a chance to take a good look at it unfortunately
  3. Classic Skylines Australia has been invited to an event hosted by Nissan next weekend with the new Z starting at the HQ. It will be good to take a look at such a historic car!
  4. Yep it's good. The distributor was effectively locked because the advance mechanism was completely seized.
  5. Performance Ignition in Nunawading (Victoria) did a full rebuild of my distributor about 2 years ago with a similar scope of work as what Gav suggested.
  6. Hi All, I'm looking to redo the sound deadening in my 260Z and stumbled across this post from Gav in a build thread: That kit looks like exactly what I want because I was hoping to avoid the shiny dynamat type stuff and it's well priced (even factoring in the exchange rate) for something I don't need to spend hours cutting myself. Is there any major difference in LHD vs RHD and 240Z vs 260Z floors that would make this not work? My car is a 1975 260Z for comparison.
  7. It’s taken a while but the new home for my 260Z is pretty much finished. I need to make a workbench to house all my tools and equipment but it’s a very nice feeling to have all the car parts and “outside things” in a garage and not clogging up the spare bedroom like they have been for the last 3 years. Edit: This was halfway through move in day, its looking a lot neater now!
  8. Hi All, I'm looking for a L28 complete long motor (assembled block and head, no accessories). If anyone has one laying around please feel free to reach out. Thanks
  9. I have similar wheel specs on my car and I run 225/50R15. Stock front guards and gently rolled (i.e. lips rolled flat) rear arches. The first tyres I had on the car (Toyo T1R) fit without scrubbing but I was getting terrible scrub and cutting sidewalls with R888s.
  10. after all that work to get the car straight that has to be seriously disheartening
  11. There are two different types of 260Z rails (flat tabs vs angled tabs) so make sure you get the right type when you find a pair.
  12. In their defense they did the carpets for my car and actually delivered the product. I can't say they were right the first time but they fixed it when asked. I think they are just very busy.
  13. Hi mate, I have heard some stories about premature lobe wear in Schneider cams. A few cars I know have came made by Clive Cams in Victoria and when I spoke to him last year about cams he suggested a specific grind after describing my usage. He was also very clear that a regrind cam will be longer lasting than a billet or blank (which the Schneider would be).
  14. A bit late notice but I just saw this event pop up on my FB which is being organised and run by Classic Skylines Australia. I was going to head down because I don't think I have anything on.
  15. Hi Martin, I've got LCAs and tension rods if you need them. Alex
  16. Most bushes you can still buy new from Nissan if you know the part numbers. The only exception I've found so far are the moustache bar bushings (which I used Whiteline insead of OEM).
  17. It's great to see little events like this are starting up again!
  18. That linkage thing above is a piece of crap. In the end I threw that junk out, cut the stock linkage to an appropriate length, sleeved and welded it. You could do exactly the same thing and keep your original linkage by buying a LHD linkage rod and using that as the donor.
  19. If you don't cut your guards for flares you won't be able to run the car particularly low because the lip of the old guard will get in the way of the tyre.
  20. +1 for Howards, they have been around for ages and aside from being perennially busy they have always done exactly what they promise.
  21. No that will poke significantly out of the rear guards and will need either flares or a skinny tyre and a lot of camber to fit.
  22. I have a Pierburg and once the car is running its not noticeable. Just make sure to mount it on some good quality anti vibration mounts and it will be fine.
  23. Its a shame there isn't anyone in Australia (as far as I know) that does full car body galvanising/e-coat dip primer in Australia to stop this from happening in the future.
  24. I "repaired" by horn pad retainer by putting a cable tie around the outside of the plastic. I had to carve out a bit of foam for the square part on the end of the cable tie but it worked very well. Here's a photo from another forum:
