  1. what casting number? or are you putting them on a 4 cylinder car? (i don't have any, i'm just asking because i'm sure someone will)
  2. Hi all, I'm chasing a later (260Z onwards) style transmission crossmember (see pic). If anyone has one kicking around shoot me a PM or reply here. I have a solid mounted crossmember with welded tube in lieu of bushes available as a swap if desired but I'm also happy to just buy another and keep the solid one as a spare. Cheers
  3. Well for $30 a set it's probably cheaper to make a few sets out of brass round bar, but eBay is addictive. We'll see how they go when they rock up
  4. Just thought I should share my recent discovery, the shifter bushing in my gearbox (FS5W71B aka 260Z gearbox) was cracked and worn out. Instead of going to Nissan to get a new plastic bush I bought a GKTECH brass bush to suit a Silvia. The brass bush will apparently give a better feel in the gearbox and also last longer than another plastic bush, now I just need to machine some new inserts for the roll pin bushes! A quick comparison of plastic vs brass shift bushes is below (borrowed from Google): Cheers
  5. I'll take the radio mounting brackets if they haven't gone with the radio. Name your price!
  6. Thread bump but ANY RB engine starter motor will fit onto an L series engine, the solenoid position is 180 out but no big deal. I have an R34 RB25 starter motor in mine for reference sake.
  7. I have 15x8 -3 and I wouldn't really want to go much further -ve... I put a 15x8 -11 on for testing purposes once which looked like this: Personally I like a bit less poke so I can run some nice wide tyres for period correctness

    2015 Christmas Bbq

I'm out guys, I have the Mrs' birthday on Saturday Hopefully everyone from Datsun Day rocks up, you will get quite the turnout!
  9. Thanks everyone that came down and made the day what it was. In the end we got between 160-200ish cars, I wish I knew the exact number but people kept on leaving while we were counting! At the moment we have counted approximately $2000 worth of profit to donate to the Cancer Council but as we sell more merch and count more money this number should keep on growing. Given the huge turnout for a first year event I can't wait to be back bigger and better next year, we are going to have to find a bigger space! Sorry about that Simon, when we were going through the various trophy categories in the planning stage I told Damo that we could merge 260Z/280Z together as they are the same era just LHD/RHD and therefore should be the same trophy... Upon seeing the trophies he went one step further and merged 260Z/280Z/ZX together. Needless to say it won't happen again next year PS- I don't know about anyone else but there were a stack of S30s I have never seen before in attendance over the weekend, I guess there are plenty of them still kicking around they just don't get driven often!
  10. dayum, just the wrong time of year for me!
  11. Hi Ilbert, We have been sending emails in batches to people who have entered offering pre payment. It's a very manual task so it takes a bit of time to organise but you should recieve an email from us today or tomorrow about how to do this. All else fails you can also pay on the day
  12. Check the dates AK! Next weekend however (the 22nd) is Datsun Day which is also at Yarra Glen and a few of the guys will be there. Details are at www.datsunday.net.au
  13. Non vented ones work fine. If I can sprint at Winton without brake fade on a hot day that's enough brake for me!
  14. I'll be at the event setting up but a cruise sounds good from here
  15. Marquez rested his head and shoulders onto Rossi's knee pads and nudged his foot (allegedly off the peg), what did he expect Rossi to do? Body to body contact isn't exactly everyday even in MotoGP. I also think Marquez came off pretty easily but that's just me. It will be interesting to see what happens next race that's for sure.

    Classic Japan 2015

I doubt the council fees would be waived but given the event has been run there for a few years now I imagine they have been able to cover those costs to this point. It will be interesting to see what sort of additional amenity they offer with the extra $10 entry this year.
  17. I'd like to think the events offer different things, Datsun Day caters for all cars (classic and modern) which fall under the "Nissan" banner while Classic Japan... well... the name says it all!
  18. The Yarra Glen showgrounds will be the location for the first annual Datsun Day (Vic) show and shine to be held on the 22nd of November! I'm one of the chaps organising this event. I know it's a week before the Xmas BBQ but it's promising to be a great day and we have had strong pre-registrations in the lead up to the event. Entry is $5 per car with all proceeds to go to the Cancer Council. More info can be found at the Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/events/731734046931675/ Or the website: http://www.datsunday.net/ Cheers, Alex
  19. While I completely understand why you are doing what you are doing (and it looks great!), this would have been just as awesome with a 350, manualised auto and all the decals kept on it!
  20. JPS (Japan Brake System Co.) part number 04479-30031NG
  21. I can confirm that the vented rotor type S12+8 calipers are exactly the same as the non-vented type and are only machined for additional width. I also have a seal kit for S12+8 calipers sitting on my desk doing nothing if someone wants a cheap kit.
  22. Toyo T1-R if it's still available comes in a 225-50 and is a very good street tyre
