  1. Damn that's cool, the triangulated strut brace is also pretty nifty looking!
  2. Thanks to all the Zedders and Dattophiles who brought their cars down! It was hammered home on the day, but for those who didn't go all profits from the day go to the Cancer Council as donations. While I can't tell you the final numbers on the amount of money raised yet, provisionally we are somewhere in the mid $4,000's in funds raised which is absolutely brilliant for a single day community event, so thanks again to everyone who came out. I think for next year we are going to have to impose a lock in so I get more than 45 minutes to walk around and see all the cars before people decide they want to go home!
  3. If I was looking for a Datsun but couldn't afford a 240/260Z I would definitely be looking at a 180B SSS or a 1600. Both are fabulous vehicles
  4. Nissan/Kelly Motorsport coming through with the goods for the raffle on Sunday!
  5. Damn! Thanks for checking though!
  6. Hi all, I'm chasing a pair or set of 16" wheels to test fit onto my car. Preference would be the GTR style Superlite (16x8 -4) but happy to take anything that fits and has appropriate sized tyres on them. 6 pack of beers will go to the person who lets me borrow their wheels for a couple of days!
  7. Interesting you say that...
  8. I'd be browsing Facebook to see if anyone has organised anything. I'll be first on the scene to set up so I won't be cruising in, sorry!
  9. If it's anything like the coating on mine the heat reduction is quite significant. I don't run a heat shield under my carbs and they don't ever get anywhere close to boiling fuel. One word of warning for anyone getting ceramic coating though; it doesn't remove the heat completely, so instead of your headers being really f*cking hot your exhaust (and your floors more specifically) can get extremely hot without appropriate insulation!

  11. The article has completely missed the point about WHY 240Ks are becoming increasingly valuable. The 240K was frumpy and boring in it's time, but it was also the first generation of Nissan Skyline sold locally*. As younger enthusiasts grew up playing Gran Turismo and watching Fast and Furious movies they became passionate about Japanese car culture and the historical lineage of the Skyline. This has increased demand locally from the tiny pool of cars which still exist. The supply issue is further exasabated by the high prices these cars fetch when they are exported to the Middle East and Japan because as discussed in this thread previously Australia is increasingly connected to the rest of the world when it comes to classic car pricing. Hence the high prices and insane demand. *with the exception of the Prince Skylines which IMO predate the "GTR era" of Skyline which most people associate Skylines with
  12. Hi, Does this include the appropriate engine/gbox mounts, crossmember etc or is it just the engine and box?
  13. I was thinking about this the other day actually, good timing! If I was doing this myself I would be drawing a plug in CAD and then getting a few 3D printed to use as guides. I would then mount the carb in a drill press and measure about 500 times to make sure everything comes out straight.
  14. Another bit of advice, if you are taking the struts out of the car run a honing tool through the holes where the spindle pin goes to make it easier to insert and remove the pin in the future. Also 280ZX stub axle nuts are the same as 240/260Z but are an upset nut and don't need to be peened on like the originals. I have the part number at home somewhere and Ferntree Gully Nissan in Melbourne were happy to sell me just 2 of the nuts instead of the 5 pack.
  15. BUMP This is only a few weeks away now! One of the organisers Damien has been working his ass off to one up himself with the incredible trophies he made last year and he has also made a slot car track which will be in operation during the day and given away as the first prize in the raffle. Seriously you don't want to miss this.
  16. I have these installed in my car and they are incredible. Well worth the investment.
  17. The argument most collectors make for "matching numbers" are that the engine, transmission and rear end are from the same era/model as the car and not necessarily the engine, trans and diff the car was delivered with. ie. a 250 GTO Ferrari can be numbers matching as long as the engine is the correct tipo 168 V12. It could be from another 250 GTO but it will be considered numbers matching.
  18. RHD cars should have a mirror on the right (driver's) side, a mirror is optional on the passenger side. In that ad though there is no mirror on the driver's side so it's a photo of a LHD car... with a cream interior.

    2016 Christmas Bbq.

It sure is a busy time of year! I'll try my best to make it
  20. The 90s were bad for some things and better for others...
  21. By all accounts of people that knew him from his time in the paddock, he was quite a bell end. A very fast and talented bell end though. I switched it off after 20 minutes, I couldn't stand the fake car noises, fake commentary and simulated (fake) racing sequences dubbed over the top of the classic footage.
