    Ok so the SU shaft is 10mm then. Perhaps the SU size will be the next bearing up in this range? I purchased spares for my setup through SKF bearings. Specs are: I.D 8mm O.D 12mm Length 9.89mm They have about ten needle rollers and the pinkish bit is the shaft seal. It's only on one side of the bearing.

    5/16th I.D. Is 8mm which is the same shaft size as the FCR needle rollers. I'll take some pictures, get part numbers and measurements tonight.

    What's the size of the SU throttle shaft? I have needle roller bearings on my FCR's that have a seal on the outer edge to stop air leaks. Perhaps they could be a drop in replacement. I can measure them if anyone wants.

    Do the lash caps on inlet 4&6 look the same height above the spring retainers as the others? If it's a refreshed head/engine that hasn't run or been tested perhaps he installed a couple of mismatched lash caps mixed up during the rebuild?

    Love seeing the updates and progress on this Gordo. Any idea on what the weight will be when it's finished? Are you going to run full slicks or semi's?

    Are you turning the motor over as you do them? They should be measured on the heel of the camshaft for each rocker.

    Trevor at Brighton Nissan was great. He would go through the old binders to find exploded diagrams and confirm the part you wanted. Now that's service! Someone should forward these stories onto Nissan Australia. I tried to buy a 280zx thermostat from them a years ago only to be told by the parts monkey "no parts left after the tsunami". What a joke!

    I got some answers back from Mori San at KEW. Their crank damper is a fluid filled item. The 43,900 yen race crank pulley is compatible with standard water and alternator pulleys. The pulley on this item is 102mm O.D. The 70,000 yen 'race crank pulley kit' is only compatible with the water pump and alternator pulleys which are included in the kit with a different belt to suit as well.

    I found it really confusing reading the pro's and cons on different types of dampers. I was leaning towards the fluid types because the science sounded good to me and I'll have a few Kameari goodies on the donk. It's nice to keep it in the family so to speak Although if not a fluid type the ATI seems to have been used plenty of times with great success! OS Giken had one on the twin cam. Anyone know a rough cost of the ATI?

    I'm not sure I have a good understanding on it. I thought the crank vibrations occurred at certain rpms and were measured as a frequency. So the damper was designed to work at those frequency points to counter the vibrations. So if my engine differs to the build that the ATI L6 balancer was designed on would it need to be altered or tested again to ensure my vibration point is within the specs of this one?

    $460 plus shipping. I did look at ATI's but I was looking for something fluid filled. My new donk will be a lot of different parts so I wasn't sure if the ATI would be tuned for it. I also don't want it under driven too much.     Just wondering if anyone runs one of these as I have a few questions about them before I ask Kameari directly. 1) are they a fluid filled damper? From the pic below it looks as though it says fluid type on the damper. 2) can they be used with standard water/alt pulleys? 3) are they under driven? The sell a race kit which has a larger alt and water pump pulley so I figure the crank pulley would be stock...

    The silver one looks super tidy, That color combo even makes the standard hub caps look good!

    The fibre gaskets are horrible, the cork ones are ok but by the 3rd or 4th they're removed they end up tearing. I had one on the LD engine and thought it would be great if they made them for the petrol donks too! If you want to get rid of it let me know via PM. I'll stop hijacking your listing now

    Anyone know where you get the rubber valve cover gaskets from? The LD's have them too but they're the wrong shape.

    I do oxy welding on copper pipe and brass fittings at work. Do you know if the process is similar to that and what sort of filler rods do you use?

    I'll be fiddling with th FCR's again soon so I'll add some updates. Looks like we're getting a few threads updated already
