  1. A question for the guru's.. I bought a new Nissan V912 cylinder head today. It's going on my brothers 1600 with an L20b engine. The engine will be rebuilt as a road driver with twin 40mm mikunis and a 72deg cam. The inlet and exhaust ports are quite roughly cast, do we port it out or just do a little clean up of rough edges? Thanks, Gareth.
  2. Welcome, looks great. Any more details on it?
  3. All the triples I've seen don't have them connected and mine weren't either. Cold starts should be as easy as three full pumps of the accelerator pedal and then hit the ignition.
  4. Looks like it has some pretty fancy gear on it. Adjustable Bilsteins and a works pedal set? Is that just the non servo assisted brake setup?
  5. It has been too long, keep those updates coming mate. What a find with the guards and what a great memory Gordon has! Ride height looks perfect, have you done many miles on the dunlops, if so how do you find them?
  6. Got mine yesterday. The finish on these is just as good as the rears Very happy, thanks David!

    Shockers

I have KYB AGX 4 way adjustables on my car. They're a slightly shorter shock from a Z31 300zx, so great for lower springs. Not sure of the valving on them but they have been faultless on 340lb springs. Got them from Baz at Datsport. They were cheaper than Koni yellows and he recommended them as being a good shock. There's a detailed shock thread on HybridZ, there's a few racers going for Bilstiens from a VW. They're very well priced too.
  8. This Pierburg is what I have run for many many years without any issues at all. Running via a relay for stable power supply, with a filter before the pump inlet, I get 2.9psi at the carbs. I've ran it with original SU's, triple dellorto's, bike carbs and the FCR's. It's very quiet too. Probably available for cheaper if you shop around, I paid $99 IIRC. https://www.efihardware.com/products/261/lift-pump-340hp-Rollercell
  9. Brad Frisselle's IMSA 240Z warming up
  10. Not sure on the stock 240z shock tube length, but my Z31 300zx tube length is 340mm and the spacer was 25mm or 35mm IIRC. Not sure on the full length including shaft, but they're definitely shorter.
  11. Try this style T/C kit, http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/PSDC10/23-4190 I have seen them on ebay pretty regularly also. They fit on the front of the rod, urethane or rubber on the rear after the TC box mount. They are solid so wont compress under heavy load or cornering, but they still allow the rod end to pivot as the suspension moves up or down. I ran mine for many years and only switched to fully adjustable type during my rebuild. With the shorter springs, if your having trouble with too much droop or non captive springs, try a shorter shock like Z31 300zx. The 240z KYB GR2 gas will be great with the king springs (I ran this exact combo), with a 23mm front bar and 18mm rear, it'll handle like a go kart!
  12. So I guess it'll be the same story with MotoGP too Looks to be another highlights package for today too.... V8SC you suck!
  13. Has anyone else noticed the lack of free to air coverage for Saturday qualifying and races? I noticed an 8.30pm 'highlights' package on free to air Boo!
  14. I got my 432 style 'rear can' from Reinhard (twin 60mm in/out), but a few guys have contacted them after me and they are only willing to sell a complete stainless system. I like the idea behind these systems because you can by any piece you need without having to buy the whole system.
  15. This looks to be anything from full systems to just the rear 432 style muffler.
  16. Sorry, I've contacted the OP of that thread. Hopefully some images and info will be up here shortly.
  17. I've always used the factory lifting brackets which are attached to the rear 8mm exhaust stud and two vertical 8mm holes near the factory fuel pump on the front of the head. Is that where other posters are lifting from? I'd go for the factory brackets, but if your going redneck style use those points with CHAIN. Use washers to keep that chain as close to the head as possible. Leverage on 8mm studs IMHO is not a good idea, especially with the gearbox attached and the manipulation required to get things out. As soon as you tilt it to clear the radiator support a lot of the weight will shift to that rear stud It's still quite easy to separate the box/engine and refit in the car. If your keen I could post up my brackets, I'd need them returned when you finish though.
  18. Thought this could be of some use to some guys! Nice to see these hard to find parts being replicated http://zclub.net/forum/showthread.php?t=25284
  19. Regardless of the type of car, modified or not I would be put off if there wasn't a substantial paper trail included. With out receipts or photographs of the work the car has to be worth less. Its much harder to be certain of what work has been carried out and the quality of that work.
  20. What sort of throttle cable do you use Mark? Lexus?
  21. I say turn the tables a little, give him a dead line on your offer (say midday Saturday) as your looking at another 240z in much better condition. This guy has made a deal, then changed his mind due to pure greed! The 7.5k car looks better to me also.
  22. Now that's a great teaser pic! Do you have a build thread on this Peter?
  23. Wow, they look great David! I really shouldn't be shocked after fitting/using your rear control arms, these front ones look awesome too
  24. How would you bond the carbon? It looks ok, but I don't really get it. "custom radiator with a baffled section so the crank-mounted fan can work to its maximum efficiency"
