Hopefully it works Gav, I'll know when it comes to start up time. I had a little bit more play time today, I removed the modern radio I had but never used. In the space left I did a trial fit of the din plate from the garagesanmaru boys with some new Kameari gauges. The plate was mm perfect, thanks guys! These oil temp, water temp, oil pressure gauges will be much more accurate than the factory gauges and it will be interesting to see if the 'HardBlok' half fill changes any of the normal operating temps. I think I'll finish the din plate in wrinkle coat with a gloss black finish to tie it in with the dash a little better.

They definately give the interior a more purposeful look.

I thought about trying to make up something to get oil pressure before start up. I decided to grind down the gear on a spare dizzy/oil pump spindle and welded a bolt into an old distributor. The idea is I will fit it all up and spin it with an impact gun, it will turn the oil pump without catching the crank worm gear. Hello oil pressure ?

There's a weak heart beat again measuring 3098cc, it's only a dummy build at the moment to check clearances etc. A few specs. -LD28 crank knife edged & lightened by 2kgs. -Datsun Spirit super light weight 139mm rods. -Datsun Spirit super light weight forged Pistons, moly coated skirts, 5mm valve reliefs. -L28 block sonic tested, smoothed/deburred, clearanced for stroker setup, oil galleries modified, ARP main & head studs. -Customized timing cover for LD28 water pump. -Dizzy drive triple roll pinned and isotropic finished with crank gear. -P90 PMC race head, oversized stainless valves, cosworth springs, custom retainers, heavily ported & polished, shaved 2.413mm to achieve 41.8cc. -76 degree 'works' high lift camshaft. -Rollmaster heavy duty timing chain kit. -Kameari 1.4mm MLS head gasket 90.5 bore. -Kameari 4kg chromoly racing flywheel. -Kameari adjustable cam sprocket. -Kameari high volume oil pump. -Kameari twin idler. -Kameari fluid filled race damper. Calculated compression ratio at 10.479:1 Had a quick play with the deisel and turbo rocker cover with a small amount of machine work it could say 'OHC DIESEL 3.1'

Marquez had more than enough pace to win last week in Australia, but chose to play games with the minor places until the last lap. Same thing happened this weekend as well, there's some sort alliance or funny business going on with Lorenzo and Marquez against Rossi. I don't think he's that worried about the world titles, it was more about making a point after the Ducatti disaster years. In the end he was quite soft, Marquez turned into him then crashed after being blocked and pushed wide. Motogp without Valentino Rossi will be a very dull place, pretty much like F1 is now.

Checked the specs today with the machinists, 1.4mm is what I'll need. Thanks anyway!

Thanks Alan. Was the slide throttle with mechanical injection a common setup? Are these the stroked version and what sort of power output were they getting? The sound of these engines at full noise is intoxicating, just when you think they should shift they start to sing even more! What sort of specs and power is your GTR S20 built to?

Hi Guys, with the new stroker build I'm looking for an MLS head gasket to suit my F54/P90. Everything I have seen so far looks to be missing some of the oval shaped cooling holes on one side of the block. With the block getting a half grout fill I want to find something with all the coolant passages open to maximise flow. Any suggestions?

Ah the noise! Looks to be the Scuderia Nissan GTR? I believe I have seen this car with an S20 engine, slide throttle bodies and Lucas mechanical fuel injection.

Still looks brand new and I'm loving the door number decals For the diff I highly recommend 'Isotropic finshing' of the crown wheel and pinion. I did my 4.375 and it's whisper quiet and relatively cheap to do.

There may or may not be a bubble in classic cars at the moment but I expect it to trend to the richer side of society like most other luxuries in Australia. The Australian norm of home ownership is getting far further out of reach from the average income, I can only imagine what else will follow in the years to come. With the price of houses, goods, services, the cost of living and the wage increases to keep up I only expect things to get much more out of hand. Yes there's always the 2+2's on the cheaper side, but they lack in looks and performance compared to the original real Z's. Personally I don't mind them but they'll always have that '911 vs. boxter' stigma attached. As for importing LHD cars I'm happy to be proven wrong but I would expect them to be worth very little here unless RHD conversions are available. To me early Z's look fantastic, although not in the race. The Toyota 2000GT is miles ahead with daylight second, then followed by E-type Jags in third. 240z would be just in the top 10. A Starion at 50K That's up there with that 120Y recently. Lol!
