Yes I know I highlighted the comment though that the same person that had #211 also had #12.

Wow you bought that car? Good luck! That is going to be one hell of a restoration!

Shame it was missing so many parts. But hard to trump #12.

It wasn't just missing parts, parts of the chassis were missing and it had a half baked rear 1/4 cut and shut! You need a lot of metal working talent to make it a car again!

Sounds like #19 and #92 to be honest and even #51 (exaggerating a little). That's what you get for trying to play Low Vin Bingo haha.

In all reality once all the parts were pulled out of the shell as well as what was seperate to the vehicle in boxes it was missing very little which was lucky.

The shell has had some previous repairs which will need some attention but there is very little rust and the chassis has no metal missing? I have had

a lot of different Z's over the years and this is actually a reasonably easy restoration compared to some I have tackled and am very happy that I found

this one.

Looks like you have had your fair share of Z's over the years and know what you are doing.

Good to see #12 will be in good hands!

I like this as it would have to be one of the last 240z's produced before the 260 change over.

I know that goes against your early number theory Gav :)

Does anyone know this car ???

On a different topic, if the owner of the white 240z that was Boundary Road Oakville on the weekend is reading this, your car looks sensational on the road.

This is an interesting one. The Gumtree ad says "November built", but as we know, the compliance plate date of 11/73 is not the build date.

The engine number is L24-189785, which is higher than my 9/73 car (L24-189707), but the chassis number is HS30-103468, which is lower than my car (HS30-103724).

My data for later 240z's is full of holes right now, but I am slowly planning to backfill the details. I've started entering details in a spreadsheet. So far I've 4-5 other cars after this. So it definitely is a later car. Engine no. sequencing can be quite a bit out too, but generally fall around the same range.

Refer to attached image of spreadsheet.

Also.

The issue of actual build dates is its own can 'o worms. Can be especially tricky when it's to do with compliance/registration dates too. Officially Nissan had finished building HS30-prefixed cars by 11/73, so I assume yours is a compliance date or something like that?

A few cars would get out of sequence due to quality control / rectification, so that muddies the water too. I'm just talking about the body serial numbers here really.

The data I've collected so far tends to show this is the case also.

You've already got 1 of the last! ;D HS30-103735 which is about 8 cars before the last I've recorded so far.. Interestingly Nissan made a lot of white 240z's right at the end of 73 that were sent here.

Happy to look at the yellow 240z for those over east that are seriously interested.

Just spoke with the owner and someone local to WA is looking this week. Matching numbers and 100% complete so I am guessing it will go.

If the owner calls me I will PM you to discuss, maybe the old slab payment system can make a comeback.

Look who's back!

(The white car) .

Well I bought it about 6 weeks ago. Paid $7000 to much I think.

In the end it was not rust free (lol), I have just replaced both floors with ones from Z-findings and have quite a bit of rust to fix.

Anyway no turning back now.
