benv Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 No, the floors are bonded with Fusior panel adhesive. The screws you see are stainless m4 flanged button heads used for clamping. and are now seam sealed. Main reason being I have seen very few neat buttwelds on new floors on the thin and fragile centre tunnel steel. 260DET 1 Quote
RB26DETT Posted July 21, 2017 Posted July 21, 2017 Just spoke with the owner and someone local to WA is looking this week. Matching numbers and 100% complete so I am guessing it will go. If the owner calls me I will PM you to discuss, maybe the old slab payment system can make a comeback. Yellow 73 240z must have sold already, ad taken down Quote

Cool, if there are overlapping flanges all round then this should be stronger than your average weld in job. A bit of a write up with pics in the Body work section would be good, Quote

Has a v8 302. Not my cup of tea. Remind me again, who is Stephanie? It says build date around 12/1971 - But I actually think it's more likely to be the compliance date. Since it has the earlier console and my 72 was built 12/1971 and had the later console. The body work actually looks reasonable (in photos) such a shame about the engine swap however.. It looks like faded 905 red but description says "orange". Hard to tell for sure.. Quote
Rob008 Posted July 30, 2017 Posted July 30, 2017 Stephanie is the one that was flipping the white 73 a few weeks ago for $29k Guess who's back? https://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/_/SSE-AD-4744833?WT.seg_4=AutoAlert;PCAA Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted July 30, 2017 Author Administrators Posted July 30, 2017 Are you sure it's the same Stephanie? I got a call back from a guy with an English accent (I emailed the advert to ask about chassis no.) anyway he didn't have the chassis no. handy. I didn't get the impression they were flipping them. Seem to recall he said they had been hauling this 240z with them to a few places over the years. But wouldn't be the first seller to spin a story. Said the original engine was long gone. I asked if it was around just in case... Rob008 1 Quote

Administrators gav240z Posted August 5, 2017 Author Administrators Posted August 5, 2017 https://carsales.mobi/cars/details/_/SSE-AD-4905722260z 2 seater for $21k - cheap in my opinion. 2-seat Datsun 260z coupe in very good original condition. All original except for twin SU carburetors and car stereo but I still have the original stereo. I've had the car for 28 years and it's been garaged the whole time and not driven for the past ten years. There's only a couple of small spots of surface rust, nothing more. Rare blonde interior (seats and doors). Engine runs well and it could be registered but it's not currently registered as it has been in storage for ten years. This car is an ideal starting point to bring back to original condition - this was my plan but kids and family have taken precedent. Quote
