That looks quite nice. Lots of time and effort gone into that. I would love to have a close look at it.

Datsun 240z comp. Cams log booked car. 2800 74deg cam. Ported head. And triple webbers. Approved cage and race seats with 4 point and 3 point harnesses. Painted 3 years ago with a very small amount of rust removed and plated. Goes really well. Nothing to do. Ready to race and enjoy. Extensive amount of spares. Not a show car but a neat race car that is road registered

The $80K Z has certainly had some serious $$$ spent. That suspension package is tremendous..... Will be interesting for us RB powered owners to see the final sale $$.

It says 240z, but the dashboard is a 74+ model S30z dashboard. It could have been retrofitted to an earlier car but it could also be a Fairlady Z.

I tried to look up the South Australian registration to see if I could get the chassis ID but couldn't get it. So not sure what it is. I thought it might have been this car. But don't think so looking at it now.

I saw it at a car meet perhaps 6 months ago - it is a 240z with the 260z dash retro-fitted - if I recall correctly it is so that 260z air conditioning could be fitted without excess hassle.

Appeared to be really well done but also not my thing. Will be interesting to see what sale price is achieved given the level of modification (if anyone ever finds out).

Seller's Comment

DATSUN 240Z 1971

3 speed auto

original 2.4ltr

I'm selling this car for my Uncle who is sick and unable to do so himself.

He bought the car roughly 20 years ago from a used dealer located in Adelaide. As far as i'm aware the car was in the exact condition as what its in now. My Uncle has only done the basic services and only used it once or twice every couple of years. It came with the after market sunroof fitted (no leaks) and the set of 260z wheels which are on the car. since then it has always been garaged on a farm in Willunga and well looked after.

This is a very clean car inside and out. Its non molested. A great example. No rust that i am aware of. Some minor surface rust in a few spots. (under the bonnet) Very low mls. The car has been sitting still for the last 4-5 years and will need some minor work checking over brakes and running gear. In saying that, the car drives fine. A new Brake booster has been fitted. Vehicle registration has been paid until May 2017. It is on historic reg and the buyer needs to organize for this to be changed into their name before collecting.

These cars are becoming harder to find and i'm sure wont last long.

No time wasters, No swaps.

Asking Price is $32,000 ono

That looks like a good buy for the asking price and relatively original shape.

If anyone gets in contact with the seller please ask for the VIN no. if possible and check if it still has the original L24.

Shame about the sunroof and Auto.

Also, why are the side mirrors are from 260Z? Did some 240z came with 260z mirrors from factory?

First had this car up on here as EOI in September last year. Good looking car , but seems a bit exxy to me with a sunroof , probably about $5K to $7K to get rid of the roof and tidy the rest of it up, so on that basis the price is right up there !! But someone will pay the money and buy it !!  Just my thoughts

My 260z came with the same plastic black mirrors. I though that it must have been factory on all 260z. I do not know if that is the case.

I like the chrome finish mirrors that i see on 240z so i restored a set of those and replaced the plastic ones.

For sale or swap Datsun 240Z motor and gear box out to carry out minor rust repairs on rails and floor but all parts are there including triple 45mm webers, manifold and works extractors call for any further info looking for $9500 or will swap for a R32GTR skyline

From the photos, cheap and won't last long.

Agree Gav. Even if it has rust (and it will) it's a good starting point and cheap.

I called the guy up.

Rust in driver and passenger footwell, lower rails rusty, and what he described was a section on both sides of the car above the sway bar was rusty.

1974 model.

Original engine, 80,000 kms (who knows how many times over). Car was originally in SA and has had 2 previous owners in VIC.

Interior is in very good shape. Dashboard cracked right along the top but hidden completely with dashmat, no other cracks. Original steering wheel, carpets and trims. Only the seats have been reupholstered.

Nonetheless, an absolute steal at $9,500. Would only need the rust done and maybe a paint job, then a days work putting the engine back and you got a $30,000 car.

Was going to go and see it tomorrow morning and buy but some lucky bugger beat me to it.

Factory 260z mirrors are the same as 240z mirrors.

Reasonably priced 260Z coupe. $18,000

Makes that $12,500 full resto required 260z in the for sale section look waaaaaaaaaaaaaay overpriced.

Datsun 240k mostly complete car that rolls. Recommend inspection, suits someone who needs glass etc and hard to find parts.

On 10-Jul-16 at 15:36:14 AEST, seller added the following information:

Note compliance plate and option plate are not in car (consider them gone when bidding) as were put in a "safe" spot and can't be found yet. If ever found will be sent to winning bidder. Vin number is still on car and can be registered that way if needed. Vin is KHGC110 - 002961
