  1. I reckon this car belongs to Qhontran, i bought some carpets off him a couple of months ago, and he was in WA MarkB
  2. Hi Quong, could you get a price to pack and post the centre carpet to Port Lincoln SA 5060 please. Regards Mark B
  3. Looking for a pair of dovetails to suit 260z or 240z doors. These is to go on a 260z I am getting back on the road, one is broken and the other is badly worn, so hopefully someone has a pair on some rusted out doors that they no longer need. Let me know what you have, regards Mark B
  4. Car is #855, I sold it to him in April last year. Mark B
  5. Call me strange/ weird !!! but I sort of like this car !! However the stripes and the wheel covers would have to go !! Perhaps paint it Red or maybe Black ?? the drop it a bit with some 16inch Watanabe's on it and I reckon it would be a cool car !! Plus I would leave it left hand drive just to add to the experience !! Having said all this I am talking if you could own it for $10k !! As TomC18 says at $20k he is dreaming !! MB
  6. 10 mm thick, I used it everywhere because I couldn't get any 6mm for the winscreen pillars !!
  7. The vinyl does have a weaved material on the back, so I guess it probably is the same vinyl you would use on a seat. The foam was just what he had in stock , don't know what type density etc, it was just close enough to the thickness I wanted, so I just used it !! does seem to be relatively soft, so not a high density I am thinking. I also used the vinyl on the interior cover that goes on the inside of the tailgate, and it looked good there as well.
  8. That would be me !! I did mine with a vinyl I got from the local trim shop, from memory I used 10mm foam backing .
  9. There has been a LHD 280Z for sale on Gumtree for a while at $18k ( about a 76 from memory), and was previously on ebay at $15k without a bid, so I guess that gives you an indication. I am with Gav, would have no hesitation myself for a LHD car which is a weekender, but the majority of people prefer RHD. Mark B
  10. There is a lesson for the seller here, sometimes your first price is your best, after 3 goes people start to lose intertest, my opinion is that the interest has peaked !! Plus the add is a bit misleading, it is not one owner, these people bought it from the estate of the first owner, so in reality they are the second owner unless they are licenced dealers !! Everyone knows what they paid, and they are certainly allowed to make a profit, but I think it made its money at the top price. Just My opinion. Mark B
  11. Sorry to Hi jack your thread, but what about rear bumper bars, same on a 260z and a 260Z 2+2 ?? Regards Mark B
  12. Craigz makes them, $25 a pair from memory, out of nylon, they look original !! just buy some form him !!
  13. Hey Guys, Craigz on the forum here made me some rollers for my 76 260z regulator, contact him, I am sure he will be able to help you. Regards Mark B
  14. Should have kept the Rotas, those wheels look shit !!!! Well in my opinion anyway !!
  15. Hey, hubcaps aren't cheap you know !!! LOL Mark B
  16. Hey Mikki, have banked the $$ today and have also pm'd you. Regards Mark B
  17. In My experience it will be the radiator, will only cool for so long then eventually the temp builds up and you have to wait for it to cool down. I would take the radiator out and have it cleaned professionally. Bet you will find it is 50% blocked MB
  18. Hey Mikki, I have tried to call you 3 times re the roof, can you return the calls if you want to sell it. Regards Mark B
  19. Only a profit if he actually gets the $75k for it, it seems lately the stuff that is cheap, even if it is rough or rusty sells pretty quick, but movement in the $60k plus bracket seems to be very slow !! no harm in asking, but what you ask and what you get seem to be two different things !! Just my humble opinion Mark B
  20. Wipers are a give away, definitely a pic of a LHD car.
  21. I reckon it is to expensive at the start price, never mind what it will make at the end of the auction, although interestingly there have been no bids yet !!. I could be wrong, lots of work and money to be spent, but I think about $8K of my money would top it out, but I may be a bit negative having just done a rebuild and knowing how much time and money it takes !! Would't be surprised if someone paid $10k for it though.
  22. Took it down for a police ID inspection today so I can get it registered, first time on the road in over twenty years !! and now the mechanical faults can be seen !! Runs a bit off, but not surprising afetr sitting for all that time, I reckon a set of leads, plugs, cap, rotor etc will get some improvement happening, plus a bit smokey, but some fresh oil and filter may improve that and I am betting that the valve stem seals are stuffed after sitting for so long, so some more work to do next week. Biggest issue is slipping clutch and weak second gear synchro, so the clutch I will do straight away and the gearbox I will just put back in and do the synchro another day as I really only bought this to do the odd run with the local car club here in Port Lincoln, si it will be ok for that for a little while, a quick question, 76 260z gearbox 2nd gear synchro, is this one of the ones that is hard to get or easy to get ?? The carpets all came out good, got a set from Rob at the Z factory, put my own insulation on the back, and waiting for a set of leather seat trims from Rev Z, so once they arrive it should be all good. As long as I have no major issues it will be at Datsun Day in Adelaide next weekend, so looking forward to meeting some of the SA members from here who will be there.
  23. Couldn't help myself, saw this on a facebook page, was only 600 km's from home, so had to buy it !! 1974 260z 5 speed, very solid in the body, only very minor rust in the doors, but very average sunroof hole repair. The motor sounds real good, still has the round top Hitachis and airbox so all good in that department, but will need the usual carpet kit, rubber kit and seat trims, but overall a pretty good car. Origially gold with gold trim, then painted green at some time, i am thinking for this one maybe that Mini colour that looks a bit Safari Goldish but a bit shinier, will see how I feel once the body work is done. The previous owner had pulled it apart , rubbed it down and lost interest, so now I get to do all the good stuff !! After a brief stocktake, there are parts missing, namely the roof gutter moulds, and the grille ( dont know how you can lose those when you pull a car apart), so a bit of searching required, but wont be needed for a few months yet. The red car is nearly finished, so here we go again, I reckon this one will be a 6 month build, and Rust Musty #227 240Z is a much bigger job, so I am thinking I will do this one first and put Musty on the backburner for another 6 moths or so ( or at least till this one is done). Once I get stuck in I will start a build page in the appropriate section !! Mark B
  24. $15 K FULLY engineered for a good job WOW, looks Fully sik to me, I think you have the best price, just go for it !!
  25. Thanks for the kind words Jeff, hopefully I will make it there !! looks better in the pics than in the metal, and because it is all my work I know where the faults are !! I have to keep telling myself it is a 40 year old car, and it will still look pretty good to the untrained eye !! Maybe next year you can have your car there, and if I am lucky I will try to get #227 there as well !! Cheers Mark B
