Moderators PB260Z Posted April 25, 2016 Moderators Posted April 25, 2016 Hi Ian When looking at cars of this age I pay minimal attention to mileage, it is all about condition. That is unless the car has exceptionally low and beyond question mileage Cheers PB Quote
Groundhog Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 Any news on the 240Z VIN number? Even if it's rusty it's worthwhile knowing the VIN to add to the database. The VIN numbers can reappear mysteriously. Quote

Administrators gav240z Posted April 25, 2016 Author Administrators Posted April 25, 2016 That was HS30 00420 and it appears to have sold already. I saved photos of it however for inclusion on the Early Girl Bingo thread / list. See here also and a couple of pages back we have the ID plate photo also. Quote

Administrators gav240z Posted April 26, 2016 Author Administrators Posted April 26, 2016 That car basically sums up how many 240K coupe's ended up in Australia. I've seen many in that kind of shape, which is why so few are left. road rider 1 Quote
road rider Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 That car basically sums up how many 240K coupe's ended up in Australia. I've seen many in that kind of shape, which is why so few are left. Yeah it's kind of sad, but you are right Gav, there were so many of them around back in the day. Don't forget that there were the 4 door sedans available back then as well. Along with the standard 240K Coupe, there was also the 240K coupe GT released here in Oz. If you look closely at the door cards in the add, it shows the 240K GT lettering. Which is why this car is a little rarer than the rest of the 240K coupes out there. It also makes it a touch more sad in my books. Don't know much about the GT variant. Wonder if it had any performance upgrades over the stock version other than badging. gav240z 1 Quote
road rider Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 Looking over that add again, and it looks as if it has a standard 240K engine in it. So the GT could only be a cosmetic enhancement. Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted April 29, 2016 Author Administrators Posted April 29, 2016 FYI: I just saw a 240K Coupe sell on Yahoo! Auctions in excess of $100K AUD... http://page16.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/u99999302 Shame I don't have a warehouse with space for them all, but sometimes on Yahoo! Auctions I see finished auctions re-appear later... Quote

I reckon their super cool little rigs. This looks like a better prospect than the other I posted above. 1976 Nissan g60 patrol .this runs and drives very well .97percent rust free these are getting hard to find in this con roof has been modified . but can be changed back to original .black wheels seen in photos not in auction. any questions contact me on 0412047589 inspections recommended and welcome listed elsewere so auction may end at any time will upload more photos tommorow Quote

I think they started with the home market 240z's at HS30 10XXX or so.. It has to be a late late 71. 1971 240z Fairlady Rolling body including dash and other parts including glass and repair panels. Can email folder of pics to see parts you get and areas where repair is needed. Recomended to view before placing bid. Was planning to rebuild as a ratsun racecar but becoming a father has made me re-plan my shit. Perfect parts car or project depending on the love u have for the Z. Looks to have r/f chassis rail bent and possibly re-straightened but included is a complete spare rail. Has been sand blasted and primed inside/out and underneth. Car is de-reg but here is a link to previous plate https://checka.co.nz/search/plate=UC1452 Dont know why i cant upload more photos but can email full folder to keen bidders. Quote
dat240z Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 I'd say it's possibly even an early 72. My cars 000933 and it's a Sept 71 build. Looks to have had a fair front end shunt to have caused that crease on the inner wheel well. Quote

Administrators gav240z Posted May 2, 2016 Author Administrators Posted May 2, 2016 No reserve but starting bid of 8k RS30 00533 so might be a 74 model. Also has spare L26 so could be matching number engine. Quote
andyk_79 Posted May 2, 2016 Posted May 2, 2016 No reserve but starting bid of 8k I don't want to sidetrack the thread but that annoys me as well - a minimum bid on ebay IS a reserve as it means people can't bid below that !! Quote
GongZ Posted May 2, 2016 Posted May 2, 2016 (edited) I know what you mean Andy - and you even see listings which have a 'Starting bid' of say $5,000 AND a 'Buy It Now' of $5,000. But if you look at the procedures of a traditional live auction; The auctioneer often starts off with "can I get an opening bid of ...?." = eBay Starting bid Items have a reserve (except those offered with no reserve) which is usually only revealed when a bid has reached the seller's reserve amount. By setting a starting bid of $8,000 for this car, this seller is being upfront about not wanting to deal with "low-ball" offers, but no reserve suggests (to me anyway) that he is keen to sell. road rider Posted May 2, 2016 Posted May 2, 2016 He also says there's not much rust......looks to me, from the pics, that there is a little more rust than what he is letting on! Quote
Moderators PB260Z Posted May 2, 2016 Moderators Posted May 2, 2016 but no reserve suggests (to me anyway) that he is keen to sell. Or - he has a mate who will make sure it is bid to the level he wants, or maybe I am looking at the bad side of things. Quote
