The suspention was origanaly setup for Datsun by Lotus. at that time Lotus had one 5, F1 world titals. and went on to win 7.

Seems like it might have quite a bit more rust than what it appears...

Rear strut assy and design is known as a Chapman Steut.

After Colin Chapman.

Chapman designed various Lotises ( Lotii?)

Nissan copied the Chapman steut assy for rear.

Bingo,

The Datsun Z is a Lotus design!!

What a load of cobblers.

How come Mr Macpherson don't get a mention,,,,

Issac the "woodchippa"

Yellow one is sold, blue one still for sale last time i visited him, i bought my zed from him 1 year ago, and a few others on here have bought their cars from him too.

Story goes he took out his super 20 years ago, went around bought up 50 cars or so, and is slowly selling them off... my car paid for part of his wedding!  8)

Thanks, that was the "Story"......the yellow one was cheap he seems on the money for the blue one, maybe even little on the cheap side.

There was some one looking for a 2 seater at that price, I think?

Yes there is / was

Hi Guys,

Just thought i would introduce myself, Ive been a bystander on the forum on and off for some time. Ive always wanted a classic sports car but typically could never afford it. I was extremely fortunate to experience driving a 1971 Hakosuka GTR Replica with an L-series engine during my visit to japan late last year (see attached pics), it was nothing like i had driven before. That experience has led me on the hunt for my first Datsun. Im currently looking for a 2 seater 240z/260z that is largerly a completed project with a 20k budget negotiable. I look forward to meeting you all and learning a bunch!

Cheers

I still have the car, cant believe the uproar on here lol. the only reason it was up for sale is I had a window to purchase another car. I'm well aware its not worth 30k. not using anyone, when something pops up you have to try and grab it. so apologies for all you zed nuts, didn't mean to upset you.

It does have rust, how much i couldn't tell you but i did see bubbling in the doglegs, bottom of fenders and even top of fenders.

It's a healthy forum with many "like minded" individuals :)

You have bought well & entitled to do with the car as you see fit...it really is NONE of our business :-X

The value of early matching numbers cars is appreciating ;)

I think it's a steal given how rare it is, never seen 1 on the road! I also think it's a pretty cool looking little ride also. No doubt has some rot in the doors and probably other spots but I'd say given how Japanese cars are starting to pick up in value this will look like a bargain in a few years time.

A better alternative to a KE55 or other KEXX coupe if you're looking for something really unique.

Dang... For 5k Id have that if it was a touch closer to me...interior looks sweet.

Mind you Im holidaying <100km from where it is  ::)

This entry is dedicated to Bozo. I'll create a separate thread to track values at some point but for now I'm putting it here.

Original owner 1973 Datsun 240z.

Sold for US $18,289.00

73 240z's tend to command less value than earlier cars in the US market. So this is a good price for an original car in a market where usually 240z's are historically the cheapest place to purchase an S30z globally.
