oldmates260z Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 That bloke purchased the #308 2 weeks ago for less than 6k Where did you see it sold for 6k, that is ridiculously cheap Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted January 1, 2015 Author Administrators Posted January 1, 2015 Good luck to him. So he joined up to extract some knowledge from us and is looking to flog it on what a champ. Quote

oldmates260z Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Related thread http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,15167.0.html Sorry .... a touch of dementia kicking in, I even commented on it Did not see the price on it though, that I would not forget so easily Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted January 1, 2015 Author Administrators Posted January 1, 2015 So he's hoping to turn a quick profit. Good luck to him. Not really serious, especially at that price. But a tidy early girl would nice to have in the garage. Better go and win the Lotto. Why don't you make him a reasonable offer? It looks like it could be relatively easily registered and enjoyed. It's a bit rough around the edges but looks quite original. You may regret it in the short term, but in the long term you'll be happy with an early 240z. I'd go see it in person though, photos can make something look better than it is. Quote
dat2kman Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Well, looking at all the "well done " and "wow early girl" type posts, why do you all find it surprising , he happened to be in right place at right time, and jumped on it quick smart, rather than dick around asking all kinds f questions and nit picking the nth degree. Just 'cos he's asking 30k, doesnt mean he wont listen to lower offers, more than likely he's looking to flick it quickly. Good on him. ( wonder if he's an ex used car flogger??) Quote

I agree with you that he would probably listen to a reasonable offer, but truthfully an " Early Girl" is on the Lotto list, along with a few others I have always preferred the 2+2 and with a family need the extra seats. I guess the point is this site/forum is generally for "enthusiasts" and not the "speculators" or "investor" types... I know the prices traded on this forum are in the "main" fair & reasonable - I would hate to see opportunistic types swallow up available parts with no intention of actually using them...then watch them popping up on gumtree & fleabay :'( Quote
Z Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Buddy if you think an enthusiast, speculator and investor are three different people you ain't been round this forum very long. This is the way of the world, I'm sure you'd love to pick up a house and flip it for a profit. This only demonstrates our cars increasing worth in my opinion. Quote
chris240 Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 In my day flipper was a dolphin. Each to his own I guess.. Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted January 2, 2015 Author Administrators Posted January 2, 2015 It was more the opportunistic approach to gathering information simply to increase his/her end profit that irks me. Contribute nothing to the community and take everything. I've not problem with someone trying to make a profit on a flip if it goes to a good home and both parties are happy. If I found that car at the apparent price it was obtained for I'd probably do the same (provided I couldn't keep it for myself ;P). Quote

I don't recall seeing many, if any, cases of people taking advantage of the generosity of forum members. Truthfully I suspect if someone did do that they would only get away with it once. Just my thoughts. Quote

dat2kman Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Leave a bit of cream, in the deal, for the next guy. The more shells that get hacked up to fit flares, noses, bobtails, the more rear guards that get sliced & diced, the greater the value of the virgin cars will be. Mine's a virgin, and for sale! Administrators gav240z Posted January 3, 2015 Author Administrators Posted January 3, 2015 It would have also been nice to offer the vehicle for sale here first so it could go to a club member / enthusiast. Rather than Joe Public on Gumtree. Quote
