Administrators gav240z Posted October 1, 2014 Author Administrators Posted October 1, 2014 I'd say 2+2's are pretty rare these days, but there is certainly still too many of them on the market to help move prices up. How many 2+2's did we get? It seems we sold lots of them here, the 2 seaters are definitely in smaller numbers. However good 2+2's are certainly rare, lots of tatty automatics with bad paint jobs running the stock L26 with the flat tops. However once they decline further in numbers I think you'll see prices go up. I don't see any Z's on the road in Sydney these days. I'm lucky if I see a 2+2 let alone a 2 seater. Even a 280zx is getting hard to find, I saw 1 for the first time in ages the other day. Quote
DOOM Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 Waits for all the butt hurt 2+2 owners to chime in... Nothing wrong with 2+2's, it's when they are claimed to be rare when a number of them are for sale on same website. Quote

oldmates260z Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 This would be a good project to get back to original http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Datsun-240Z-1970/SSE-AD-2795701/?Cr=3&sdmvc=1 Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted October 2, 2014 Author Administrators Posted October 2, 2014 Agreed not sure why it hasn't sold yet. Worth doing. Quote
curtis 240z Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 I thought about buying this car and converting it back to original. The current owner use to live and work in the same area as myself so i had the opportunity to have a good look at it. The main reason I didn't worry about it, was it needs so much work to get it back to original. You would have to change nearly every panel on the car, front guards, rear quarters, beaver panel, door skins, hatch and unfortunately they have taken the gutters of the roof as well which i've been told can be a hastle to fix. End conclusion for me was unless you can buy it for not much or you like it as is wait for a better car to come up. But hey if your handy with body work or if you have a smashed up 240z sitting in the shed this would be an ideal car to have. Quote

I need another bay in my shed. And another mortgage.... Roger Quote

I need another bay in my shed. And another mortgage.... Roger It certainly ticks all the boxes in regards to what I would personally like in a 240Z. Even though it's about 2.5 times as much as I'm about to shell out for a 240Z in the next day or two, I still think it represents good value at that price. I can see that I would be spending at least that much on top of the purchase to bring the car I'm looking at up to anywhere near that standard. Quote
Impatient1 Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 seems like a pretty good deal to me only $2000 - but I still can't get it passed the financial committee Hope it goes to a good home. http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/prospect/cars-vans-utes/1976-datsun-260z-coupe/1058660301 Quote

Administrators gav240z Posted October 8, 2014 Author Administrators Posted October 8, 2014 Did anyone else just notice what HLS3-00182 bidding went up to? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Datsun-Z-Series-240Z-Series-1-AWESOME-240Z-240-z-BARN-FIND-INCREDIBLY-RARE-Low-Vin-Collector-AMAZING-/161438375051 US $17,600.00 and yet it didn't hit reserve. cracker Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 I had always thought the US had it great with cheap rust free zeds everywhere! Low build number aside, this is a great sign for prices everywhere, because ultimately we are likely to follow the US trend at some point. Anyway, slightly off topic for a classifieds section, sorry... Quote

Administrators gav240z Posted October 11, 2014 Author Administrators Posted October 11, 2014 Are you sure? It is a 73 240z brown. Apparently no major rust. Just shy of 17k Quote
George Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 You might be looking at cached copy. It's down for me anyway. Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted October 11, 2014 Author Administrators Posted October 11, 2014 Yeah looks like it's been pulled. It was an honest looking car priced quite cheap. Wouldn't surprise me if she was snapped up already. Quote
