Oh to be in the US. There just seems to be an almost endless supply of Z's popping up for sale.

The blue one that George posted a link to would do me nicely!

Oh Indeed  :D

The US is just such a big market, especially when compared to Australia.

The US new automotive market in 2013 was just over 15,000,000 whilst we sold just over 1,000,00.

The total number of cars on the road in the US is 250,000,000+ (Aus 13,000,000) so it follows that they would have more Z's

I agree 100% on the above comments but it just wouldn't feel correct/authenic owning a LHD z. However it would be better than nothing.

Rather own a rust free LHD car, than a rusty (many years before back on the road HS30), can always convert to RHD relatively easily also.

Id like to think you could swap a lefthander to righthander for $3000 parts and labour and $1000 statuatory / engineer where required.. ::)

The firewalls are different, and that is just the start of the fun.

But with time, patience and $$$ could be done, and probably cheaper than major rust repairs.

Cheers

Looks like an early car, I'm guessing 1971 with the hand throttle and the early gauges (although speedo starts at 0 not 20).

Reserve met.

Looks straight and fairly original (hubcaps, original wheel, undertray all in the car etc..)...

Can't believe the guy offering $5k for it now. What a joke...Looks like ALOT of interest in it.

Gav i think the reserve was somewhere around 5k maybe even less... been watching this since the start of the auction. Looks like there are quite a few spare parts inside the car as well or at least more 'factory' parts e.g. hub caps and steering wheel and skid plate.

240z on eBay.. $4000 starting bid with 7 days left

http://m.ebay.com.au/itm/261648911641?nav=SEARCH

Looks like a decent project, original radio and exhaust! Only concern is the rust area, in the roof, floors, rear of car etc.. Could be more terminal than what it appears. However I'd say most Z-cars have those issues by now anyway.

be interesting to see if it gets a bid.... pretty rough

I'll be surprised if it doesn't get a bid to be honest. I've seen far worse get more money than that.

Call Dennis the marketing guy with your questions....  ::)

http://www.ebay.com/itm/281487585612

I saw that car yesterday, looks quite good. Not a huge fan of the marketing guy - however at least he's provided a lot of detail and photos. Which is better than most eBay ads.

Does anyone want to hazard a guess as to what it might fetch?

I think it's definitely worth $35k+ in the US market, but it's always hard to predict their market.

What's the go with that rear bar? ??

Dealer fitted option in the US. Not a fan...

Look like the Safari Gold car here:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Datsun-Z-Series-240Z-DATSUN-240Z-FULLY-RESTORED-NUMBERS-MATCHING-GREAT-CONDITION-/201196653430

Sold for $38K+ ?

Even though it had a few incorrect parts on it, like 260z rear trim in boot, 260z air box, 260z seats etc..

This 918 orange car is quite nice looking, so we shall see what she gets.
