this is for the white 240z that's missing the seats..

spoke to seller he said he had 2 offers @ $33k and $35k ... I suggested he sell it at that price since its a great offer ..but its still for sale I find that a bit weird.

Sorry,

but........ARE YOU FOR REAL  ??? ???

1st Scrote say's "Seller seems like a tool".

2nd You say that you find that a bit weird because he has had two offers and its still for sale.

I don't like this to come across offensive or rude, but........ Who are you to suggest he sell it at that price since its a great offer.......then because he does not listen to your advice???? YOU find it a bit weird.

Did you phone him because you were interested?? Or just to waste his time and give him some of your professional advise. so that you could post your findings on here??

I find that weird & maybe why the seller seems like a tool is because he has to deal with them himself.

Just my 2 cents. Fire away if you must

Why is everyone so fired up about zed prices, gone are the days where you could buy a good one for $5000.00.

The people that are currently selling the white 240 and the blue 260 are free to sell these cars for whatever they want, if don't agree with their prices, so be it. You can always wait and hope the values drop and then buy.

I cannot wait until the values hit 6 figures. Nearly every other sports car from the early 70's has increased in value but we all seem to want zeds to remain cheap. These are beautiful cars that do everything well, they should be expensive.

We all regret not buying a dozen of them 20 years ago, mine was a one owner car when I purchased in 1997 for $3400.00 and I had to think about it buying it.

Anyone have a time machine.

Jen I have no idea what your on about - get off your high horse - I didn't call him a tool or say anything about the seller.

I rang to offer him a price but it was wayyyyy over my budget then he told me what offers he had ,he even agreed that 35k was a great offer and wanted to sell at that price and I agreed and said that's a great price since no rust but paint work is shotty and few bits and pieces missing. I don't see what your problem is.

The offers he had were 33k and 35k and he is happy with 35k - the fact he hasn't sold it for that price I find it a bit weird since the offer was made. So to me its weird - he wanted 35k and got offered 35k which point of weird arnt you getting.

Jen - I don't have to explain the whole conversation but for you ill make an exception(since I feel as though your attacking my character to waste peoples time)- in all honest I wouldn't reply and normally say "shut the fck up if you don't know what your talking about!". don't sit there and think you know all, yes I maybe new to this forum but like you over 25years in the industry, I'm a fairly black and white in these situations I call a spade a spade nothing more or less. Personally I'm very upfront and don't beat around the bush as most people are on this forum (which is great by the way). I have nothing bad to say about the seller he personally wants to keep it, I said he should keep and restore it properly it would be worth more in the long run but unfortunately other circumstances have risen and take priority.

Anyways I've had my rant some people do know me on here and I've made some great contacts/ long term relationships dealing in the world of 240z's.

It's accident damaged and is basically a shell.

If anyone buys this to part out, I would be very interested in the whole rear valance (I'd pay a pretty dime too!). No room to buy the whole thing unfortunately :(

I'm hoping who ever buys it will have the time and patience to restore it.

It's an early car and would be a shame to cut her up(I nearly did!)

I hope so too, and wish you good luck on the sale!

Looks like a decent shell and a good body shop could fix that as long as its not completely bent from front to back

Jen, we all know you're not coming back once you flip that 2+2.

Well that was constructive input  :) ....No relevance to the post........assumption on your behalf and your... (We ALL Know)...do you really??? Did I say that??.......Think Not. : :)

Meh.

We all have opinions.

No need to get off topic or take things personally.

That early 240z looks repairable enough considering the lenths alot of us go to rebuild a car anyway.

I would expect people more put off over the lack of parts on it to complete it rather than the damage to the car.

Not that I'm in the market to buy but I am interested in what you are hoping to get for it?

Not to sure what it's worth in todays market Cozza.

I just want to gauge what interest there is by putting it to auction.

I really haven't got any expectations.

Gav actually talked me out of cutting it up!

3 or 4 years ago I would have said cut it up to save another. However today I think they are worth saving.

my slilver 260 was way worse, got hit from behind and pushed into 4 cars and it was bent like a banana and it was repairable but at the time it wasnest worth it cause they where worth nothing so i cut it up and used it for my project at the time and said i will buy an accident free shell and use all the parts from mine but after 4 years in the shed sanding and panel beating, i think im happy to keep the parts as spares hahaha..... a good old school panel beater will fix it and u would never know it was in an accident....

I do like the way sensible conversation about cars continues on, despite the audible screaming of children in the background.

Are too! Are not!

Lol, I was on the road yesterday with only a mobile phone to type on. At some point I wanted to address a couple of things but didn't have wifi at the accommodation I was at. So I have just had to ignore it for now. ???? It has indeed been colourful.
