George Posted September 7, 2016 Author Posted September 7, 2016 (edited) I recall about 4 Gav. It's not hard to do, just time consuming for someone not familiar with soldering (ie. me!). It's all in this video: Also, I think I got the model number wrong in that video. It should end in B I believe. Edited September 7, 2016 by George gav240z 1 Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted September 7, 2016 Administrators Posted September 7, 2016 Thanks George, I saw the video but didn't think it was in there doh! I was a bit hesitant to play around with them because I was trying to repair another repair and blew it up I think. LOL. In fairness I was messing around with it when the power was on trying to fix a poor reception / power issue. I did improve it, but it went bang not long after when I think I shorted something by accident. It wasn't an S30Z radio after all, so now it's spare parts. With these I wouldn't mess with them while connected to a power source for exactly that reason. Quote
George Posted October 10, 2016 Author Posted October 10, 2016 Looks like Paul has in his employ the next Paul Potts... watch out for this guy in next season's Australia's Got Talent. I love how Paul titled the video "...restoration almost complete" Rickers, CBR Jeff, GongZ and 2 others 5 Quote
Brabham Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 Looks Schmick George. Paul has performed his first miracle, 2 more and he should be made a saint! Quote
GongZ Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 Hi George, I just watched Paul's video of your shell side by side with the "before video" you posted on 14 May 2014. What a difference! Congratulations on achieving this huge milestone (=1.60934 kilometre stones) - it looks absolutely gorgeous. lightmaster240z and George 2 Quote
PeterH Posted October 11, 2016 Posted October 11, 2016 Ditto from me....George are you getting any satisfaction out of putting some of us to shame great job!!! Quote

Grandad Posted October 11, 2016 Posted October 11, 2016 That's looking great, keep the good work going you've surely got a lot of satisfaction coming your way when it's done. Love the vids. Cheers Dad Quote
CBR Jeff Posted October 11, 2016 Posted October 11, 2016 O my that puts it into perspective. Great job Paul and amazing commitment George. I think this project is a bit like the chicken and the pig with eggs and bacon. Paul is involved but George is committed. Jeff Quote
Ledge Posted October 11, 2016 Posted October 11, 2016 I love how Paul titled the video "...restoration almost complete" In my defense George all our customers think the assembly is the easy and quick part. Little do they know it takes longer than the body restoration, Unless its as bad as your car was. Still cant believe how good it looks compared to when it arrived. Cant wait for you to see it. Thanks also lads for the kind words re the work on the car. As Jeff said without Georges commitment to this car it was surely destined for the scrap heap. Quote
GK510 Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 Huge transformation! And in such a short time frame in terms of the average Z restoration. If only I had half the commitment of George, and a quarter of the skills of Paul........... Quote
Dionysus Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 Looks like Paul has in his employ the next Paul Potts... watch out for this guy in next season's Australia's Got Talent. I love how Paul titled the video "...restoration almost complete" Looks great.. Wheel offset could be improved but apart from that is should be ready for the Oct 30 cruise yeah? andyk_79 1 Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted October 12, 2016 Administrators Posted October 12, 2016 Really happy for you George, and really happy to see you save #19. A car worth saving and now worth good money also. You may not have done it for ROI but that is just a bonus now. I love the way Safari Gold looks in the sunlight, it's almost yellow. Well done to Paul also, looking at the car now you wouldn't be able to tell it was even restored! andyk_79 1 Quote
George Posted November 10, 2016 Author Posted November 10, 2016 Two year turnaround and what a turnaround it is. Can't say enough about the team at Custom and Classic Cars. It was brave of them to take it up in the first place and to follow through with this result is just amazing. gav240z, andyk_79, C.A.R. and 11 others 14 Quote

CBR Jeff Posted November 10, 2016 Posted November 10, 2016 Amazing George. That is a great advertisement for Paul and the boys. Paul you asked yesterday if you had made the big time? Yep Jeff. Quote
Rickers Posted November 10, 2016 Posted November 10, 2016 George, you and the guys at Custom and Classic Cars have done justice to #19. She deserved the best and y'all gave it to her. Stunning. -Rick Quote
Riceburner Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 Epic job guys, it lives again! So many great builds on here at the moment! George or Paul, what bits were salvageable of #19's shell, was it the floors and front cut? What sort of man hours would you have in body repairs before paint? It could give people a rough idea of costs if another early chassis car comes up in the future. Also, after grafting the donor body shell onto #19 is there a jig or template to make both the old/new body line up to one another correctly? Quote
