C.A.R. Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 At LCR we take a holistic approach to helping you achieve your motorsport dreams and goals. We endeavor to understand your vehicle as a whole and what you are wanting to achieve before we start on any project. Specialising in, but not restricted to, Datsun/Nissan vehicles, we are constantly challenging existing boundaries developing higher levels of power, speed, handling and aesthetics. We apply the experience and wisdom, wrought from years of active participation and successes in most genres of Australian motorsport, to each project we embrace. Whether you need a component or a complete vehicle, something improved, strengthened, lightened, or even re-invented, we can help. We're about helping you achieve your motorsport goals, what ever they are… As quite a few members on here have had work done by LCR (including myself), I'm sure they can attest to the quality of the parts & work done. Moderators PB260Z Posted May 12, 2016 Moderators Posted May 12, 2016 Nice, makes me want to go looking for some twisty roads. Quote
Dionysus Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 Great clip... Seems like a top bloke. Would love to know the suspension set up in that car as it just looked effortless. Quote
240z71 Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 Great clip... Seems like a top bloke. Would love to know the suspension set up in that car as it just looked effortless. Lurch will probably know better than me but i believe it has arizona z car suspension and also has these trick remote canister shocks but i dont know what kind of shocks they are. Quote
dat2kman Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 AZC stuff is a bit too agricultural ! That 3.2 motor was certainly built loose, 1/2hour on dyno and she's run in! Quote
260DET Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 MCA suspension I think, Jon races that same car at Morgan Park sometimes. Quote
EJ101 Posted May 13, 2016 Posted May 13, 2016 good to see he finally got first place. Well deserved. He's been at it a long time and stuck with the 240Z. After getting done by Perana Capri's and V8 TR7's in the past I thought he was going to retire the Z and go for a V8. Good to see I was wrong. p.s that engine looked a bit smokey? Quote
C.A.R. Posted March 8, 2017 Author Posted March 8, 2017 The LCR engine shop is a bit full at the moment! gav240z, mossy, Groundhog and 2 others 5 Quote
Riceburner Posted March 8, 2017 Posted March 8, 2017 There's plenty of love still for the old school L series then! Quote
Enzo Posted March 8, 2017 Posted March 8, 2017 Eye Candy. Stop posting pictures Lurch. I can't take it anymore. Starting to turn green. Ahhhh!!!!!!!! Quote
CBR Jeff Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 Yep sure is. I was down south working for a few days and droped passed yesterday on the way to the airport. Place was all locked up and no one was home, but Les and Bryan were up at Power House playing Dyno so managed a catch up for an injection of motivation and some encouragement. I didn't get the see the line up of big 6's first hand but did get to see and HEAR the "BDKA in a 1600" song. Jeff Quote
260DET Posted March 14, 2017 Posted March 14, 2017 NB: Don't ask if any of these Les Collins Racing engines are actually being used for racing, Chook will sook lol. Quote
hmd Posted March 14, 2017 Posted March 14, 2017 Les does meticulous works. You don't have to build engine with Les just to win Targa Tas classic. As long as you take enjoyment out of your build, that's all it matters. I just wish LCR is a lot closer to Melbourne. Quote
dat2kman Posted March 15, 2017 Posted March 15, 2017 He's a darn sight closer to you, than most rest of us! CBR Jeff 1 Quote
Groundhog Posted March 15, 2017 Posted March 15, 2017 And my engine isn't even in the photo! There are more engines still at the machine shop. Quote

Brabham Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 (edited) Nice work Les and Locky What happens to all the L28 blocks that get stripped and are outside spec for large overbores-do you keep or on sell them or do they get scrapped? Edited June 29, 2017 by Brabham Quote
C.A.R. Posted June 29, 2017 Author Posted June 29, 2017 (edited) Nothing to do with me Alex - it's all Les No. No L28 blocks get scrapped unless they have a terminal issue. The blocks that can't be over-bored, are built up for other customers. Edited June 29, 2017 by Lurch ™ gav240z 1 Quote
luvemfast Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 oversized stainless intake manifold Really? It might not sound like a lot in this day and age Got to be kidding me? It's the equivalent of them pumping out 700hp from a big block. Which few are doing! Good to get some recognition from the meat head scene Well done gav240z 1 Quote
hmd Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 Nothing to do with me Alex - it's all Les too busy curating? Quote
dat2kman Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 And here's young Les, thinking after he sold the best rally engine prep shop, in the Country, DATRALLY, That he'd be able to semi-retire to a gentle peacefull idyllic Gippsland lifestyle!!! gav240z 1 Quote
peter t Posted May 13, 2019 Posted May 13, 2019 Trying to contact Les through his web site but doesn't seem to be working. I guess the phone is next option. Quote
