  1. What the hell are you on about?
  2. Roflmao! Historic stuff a bit gay! Richo,,,,,, how old are you,,,,, you old fox you!!
  3. Shaun, come up to Morgan park insted, it'll much more exciting, theres a number of Z's racing, and Lurch will be playing pit biatch for me! The Sunday is the better day as the program is packed with feature races. That racq thing is all full of old fuddy duddies polshing their sideboards anyway!
  4. Have sets of Wata replica R types, only in Gunmetal in 15x9 size at neg 13 offsett Yes you will need serious guard work, or bolt on some flares. These will clear inners. They look exactly like Watanabe R type, they just do not have the three W's cast into them. Available here in Australia, can post to you TODAY! $300 per rim! Pick up. $325 per rim, direct to you! These are brand new, in box, and ready to pst, or you can pick up! At that price, they are less than 1/2price of the genuine ones! Three sets left only
  5. Well, who exactly have you spoken to? What exactly do you want done? Another shop could be Jon Sidden on the Gold Coast. There are some performance related mechanics/engine rebuilders in Brisbane, but as usual they will only take on a "whole" job, ie a complete engine. Some may just take your head, send it to Liddles for the porting, valve seat cutting etc, then fit new valves springs etc etc. Basically, what is it you want to achieve?
  6. Peter Hall near you is the fellow that is good for these. Maybe some other SA members can pst up his phone number. He is not an internet warrior, you'll actually have to ring him and talk.
  7. Do let us know of the items removed, ie diff, box, engine, rims, tryes brakes etc etc details, any pssible identifiers. You never know, Sometimes we do get newbie sign-ups, just to pass on dodgy stuff. Has happened on here, for sure to happen again. Saw this on ther forums, hit them up with same info. Never know, they might surface, and ,,,, well,,,,
  8. There should be a loose internal circlip that sits on top of the upper white plastic ring. Also under the rectangular shift plate cover, a detent ball and spring, held in by a bolt, head is larger than others, it is a wpecific length.
  9. They are straight threads, usually in Fine pitch. It snt the thread that seals, it is the taper seat in the bottom. The insert under the bleed nipple will be a Helicoil type product, as the ally casting can get eadily ripped out if the brass thread galls.
  10. Unless you mill or file a small flat for the drill bit, these cheapy items will go through drill bits. They do make the job a lot easier, if you need wired stuff, ie sump plugs, oil fill and drains to diff and box etc. Some get a bit carried away safety wiring the body panels held on every two inches on Bugatti Tipo35 ( mr A Telfer!- agenuine Tipo35 owner here in Qld ! )
  11. No dont! The thread is ok, no need to cut it any more. It requires a taper cutter, set up in a secure jig, to hold caliper firm, and a set of fresh new bleed nipples. The taper cutter MUST match the taper in the nipples. It is pissible to run what is called a "Bottoming or Blind" tap into a blind hole but be wary of driving in too hard. ( basic engineering stuff !)
  12. That's Crow's version of a 72 degree, Mated to that L24, with what looks to have been done to pirts, the 2" SU's and a fairly open exhaust, it should be quite a cracker of a motor. Leave it alone, stick it in and see what it's like. If its a stockish bottom end, short L24 stroke with the 133's it'd be good for 7500 rpm. Be nice to know whats in the bottom end, and to see the comb chambers/valve sizes. Before you pull head off, fit a degree wheel to front pulley, a stable pointer, astablish true top dead centre, use a dial indicator and see what the actual cam opening/clsing is at 50 thou lifts at valve on dial indicator. That way you know what its set at, and can go back to it.
  13. The early 3 piece boxes, FS5C71A -Close-Mid-Ultra. I've got six of them, four are the std close ratio model ie 2.9 first, One is a Mid Close model 2.6 first, And, one in Ultra Close, with 1.8 first The mid and ultra have done service behind a 245 hp at flywheel engine, in race use, and provided they are treated with care, they handle that power quite nicely. Parts are obtainable, not cheap though! They are for sale!
  14. Warning Will Robinson, BYO food to QR and Lakeside! Can get a bit churny in the guts some hours later!
  15. Come here Peter, we can jack up your radiator cap, and slide a whole new car underneath, that will solve everything, well, maybe not the Comptroller of Finances!!! Hey Matt, you forgot, HRCC are also charging an entry fee for speccies at MP. Check their website. The alakeside Classic also feature the bumper dodgems Group N cars, after their last couple of rounds they have all had a bit of a talking too. Deaf lot they are though!
  16. FWIW, The usual going price for a rb20det or a s13/14 sr20det box is around that price. A 260z close ratio std box, ie 2.9 first also. The zx boxes are 3.321 first, , ie std regular L seties five speed. Has yours been rebuilt, reciepts?
  17. Yeah, why doesn't the zccq get behind things, no more car shows, no more events, what too risky, or it isn't Zed-eccentric enough. Anyhow, HRCC is getting behind such events and helping to promote, Jimmy Richards will be guest speaker, and teller of tales of daring do, at the next HRCC club medting. ALL are wrlcome to rock up, Date, Monday 22nd July At Shannons Club Rooms 7pm Montague Dt West End. They usually lay on a bbq and drinks, plenty of parking , usually a decent turnout, 40-60 people, pkenty to see and talk to! Bit of a bugger QR management are charging spectator entry fee for the Lakeside Classic, they usually let spectators in for nothing. Just to let you know!
  18. Its a FS5W71C From a R32 Skyline rear wheel drive RB20DET engined car. Same box, but only 50 mm longer at tip end of extension housing, from Sylvia model S13 or S14 with SR20DET engine. Both the above will require your donor Lseries BType box bell housing to be slightly modified and fitted.
  19. The figures quated above for Kameari ratios will alter, depending in input drive/driven ratios. First can be either 2.6 or 2.4. The boxes i do are the 2.4 first gear.
  20. Overlay the chassis rails from behind engine cross member to the back of rail, bit of 1.2 mm bent in a U shape, and stitch weld, ie 1" weld, 1" no weld etc. Pull guards off and on outer inner guard run some 1.2 mm sheet bracing bent at 90 deg from firewall to inner guard. Do same on inside, ie below brake masters, and next to/below battery tray. Leave rails in front of engine crossmember as is, you need some crush in a frontal impact. This is usual rally car stuff. Also stitch weld all seams in engine bay around towers.
  21. What's a "Revzed workover"? My 260 2seat Prod sports is ready for a new home.
  22. Facepalm. Well spotted Benny! Not even I understand fully what goes on behind CAMS closed doors! There will for sure be some readon behind this! Right, back to black pool noodle padding folks! The wording in the bulletin is quite bad, a lot of date typo errors, just watch, it'll get changed,,,, again !!
  23. Have a hunt around some of the Drifting websites, the short nose r200 as fitted to Sylvias and Skylines have these. Be aware of correct rear of cover to mount , stud spacing and diameter. Some come with extra threaded holes for fitting diff oil coolers!
  24. Earlier in 2013 A race meeting at QR, full visibility from tower. Flagpoints are lights only, controlled by tower Sports car race, Lotus Exige has edge of track incident after turn 2 mid race. Fire ensued. By the time the clapped out jalopy, and the sitting in their little transportable shelter fire crew of three got to the burning to hell Lotus exige, it was totally destroyed. Yes, very confidence inspiring. Second incident, first hand experience Lakeside Races for Historic Sports cars, Mid race, rear of field incident, front of field shown Red flag at exit of Karrousel, then shown Green flag at Hungry, racing continued but drivers showing caution ( experienced CAMS licensed) a further lap completed, then double waved red at start, race stopped, leading three drivers were requested to attend tower, Subsequently verbally berated for "continuing to race under full course Red" When it was explained, that two of the three had onboard cameras, showing Green at Hungry, matter was dropped. Thers your "flagging" your "fire marshals" at an AASA track that is run purely for profit as a business, with keeping procedural expenses to minimum. 260det, stop sprouting on about how great they are, go and actually race, at other circuits, with your top speed fith gear at PI ZX, and your berating of the "jig jog" morgan park. Once you've got that under your belt, then look at the standards employed at the two aasa run joints in Qld. Wakefield and Winton under aasa are far superior. So not aasa bashing!
  25. Dave, yes cable ties are fine. The adhesive is crap, and velcro is frowned upon. The readoning on cable ties is, by the time they get to melt in a fire situation, you should have been either extracted from car, or not with us anymore, if it is severe. As for AASA, if it wasnt for the existing and ongoing training that CAMS conducts in Qld, there wouldnt be the appropriately trained officials.AASA does no training, grading or certification nor does it intend to. The ability for absolute numpties with big fat chequebooks to build Superlap/TimeAttack cars, having had no progressive race craft/track craft, is way too easy. Why? 'cos AASA is very happy to take your $200 for their full race licence, not be a member of a club that will groom you up to this, and let these numpties out on a track for door to door stuff. Hence also the huge popylarity of lapdash jockeys, with quite a few coming to grief, due to the ease of doing it. 260det, get licensed up, and run with the AASA "outlaws" class, your car is on par with them, and then come back and comment on that experience! Let us know how the flaggies, or lack of, are so needed, let us know how the two local tracks handle on track incidents. Many on here are conversant with CAMs run events and procedures and conduct. I've raced at a few AASA run tracks, under their control, and they have a hell of a lot of improvements that can be done to come up to events that are under CAMS.
