It worked a treat at Lakeside, we had a number of incidents, you are full nouse, and BANG your ears are full f verios messages. Can see merit in this for sure. Qld R/Way and Lakeside R/way both use a small clip on voice radio reciever, so control tower can "talk/advise/warn" etc whilst out on track. I now have a brand new one , unused, still in packaging, for sale. Their regular price is $120. Touch of thread mining, just for the old bloke with the un-classifiable un-logbookable butchered ZX, that can only use fifth gear top speed circuits. This Logbooked fully compliant multi purpose well sorted, with further development pitential car,now, hold class lap records at, Lakeside Raceway, Queensland Raceway, Morgan Park long circuit, and is 0.2 seconds off class lap record at Winton Long, it laps PI in 1.55's, and Mt Panorama in 2.45's, Eastern Creek in 1.53's. These are very good credentials for a steel bodied 6" wide rimmed, stock factory braked heavy shell 280Z. Apparently, some old keyboard racer type would dispute the above. Just a suggestion, sell off what you have now, so you are cashed up, and in meantime, something may come up. The 260 2+2's will be more plentiful, and a lower cost, so your $$$ left over can be spread further on a rebuild. There is a good Z community in SA, something should come up for you!

Mid/early 1980's Skylines had L20a engines fitted. I GAVE one away a while back. Models were four door MR or HR designation. Still a few around.

I got a ronded shape fits in my palm, spinning random orbit jobbie of ebay, its air driven, the tube outlet to catch dust in a bag is useless, the stock disc attachment is crap, i bought a 5" screw on Velcro disc wheel, cushioned, and a selection of common sized round varios grade white sanding discs. Supercheap has the common round discs, check which sizes they have a lot of, before you buy anything It cost me about $50 Three cars later it is still going fine! Biggest job was a near metal strip on a 1966 Chevrolet Belair Dont use it for fine finish sanding, wet n dry for that.

One of my cars has a set of tyre valve fittings attached to the screw on lids on the master cylinders, it runs balance bar, so two cylinders, two caps, two threaded tyre inflating valves. There is a hydraulic handbrake in rear line, By using a bicycle pump, i can put approx 3psi, ie one pump, into the half filled large master reservior. When i crack the bleed nipples, fluid comes fair shooting out. There is no need to have anyone sitting in car pumping pedal X3, hold, crack/bleed, ,,, repeat etc.

Some in life, are simply destined to be keyboard racers, others, on the other hand, get out and do something, they crawl, then walk, then run! The running part, alongside 40 or so others, is at a level well above the keyboard racers, who, have NFI what they are on about! Not only are we pushing for Gp T cars, but also for Gp U, ( genuine historic sports sedans) We are getting there though! The HRCC Qld, is holding a Sports Cars Carnival at Lakeside on 21/22 Sept, as pzg302 above, and at this stage there are low entries from the Qld Group S cars, atm, only 7. Of which two are Gp T, three are coming up from NSW. I have put a proposal to HRCC that they consider opening up the field to other "invited" cars, of a production nature, with modifications in period, ie triple carby big braled wide rimmed 240 and 260 Z's This will be discussed by HRCC early next week. In meantime i have contacted a few of the ZCCQ members, to garner interst and let them know of the opportunity to come and race, with the slow ancient 40 year old real and fake cars. This happened a couple years back, at QR, a few Z's turned up, ran with a few Gp S cars, and we all had a great time, so much so, many wish to do it again. The stipulation of period type mods, unfortunately will not allow 260det's oddball ZX that is, apparently, so fast, it can only "race", on only THE fastest fifth gear circuits in the country, like PI, and soon, Bathurst! ( car setup is wrong, but what would I know!) Anyway, hopefully, the HRCC agrees to the request to include pre 1976 Z's with mods, ie the regular MP Sprinter guys, and a few will get to have a play, in proper races! I once,,, a very long time ago,,, rebuilt a fuel pump. It didnt work! Turned out i put the valves in backwards, it was trying to suck fuel out of the carbs, and back into the tank! Try fitting a basic clear plastic type filter just after tank outlet, but after you have disconnected all lines and used air compressor to blow lines back through.

I'd still like to know, what is the OPer's budget? What price for one, if one was able to be accquired? I have to say, i would not desire a 432, a Lamborghini Muira SV is what i am interested in. The white Stang is the ex Geoghan car, now owned by the estate of Des Wall, his son David drives it. Yes in appendix J, it is a famous and genuine car. Just like the ex Mingay/Carter Datsun, now a Group T car. CAMS Historic commission encourages event organisers to allow ALL historic categories a go, and places the Gp T cars, ( prod based sports) within Group S fields ( prod sports) The Group S association make strong demands and threaten to boycott events if event organisers accept entries from genuine original prod based spirts cars, ie Gp T. The Group S assoc is 150 members strong, and gets "listened to" hence no more Group T cars at VHRR Phillip Island or Winton Historic meetings. In NSW the HSRCA, politely ignore these demands, and allow the proper cars to run. The OTHER white Mustang, in Victoria, driven by a rather influential Victorian member of VHRR, may have taken umbrage, at, a, and it is in writing, as a "complaint" to the Historic Commission,,, "A crappy Red Datsun passed my very expensive car at a recent Phillip Island Historic meeting, i want it banned, i am rich" etc etc etc. Even the pukka Austin Healey club of Victoria had a bloody huge public whinge about "old Datsuns" God forbid if a genuine, with race history ex USA John Morton, Pete Brock or Bob Sharp original race 240Z was to be raced here in Australa!!
