I really like it.....not sure about the rear, looks a bit S13'ish.

Tragically most new cars look nothing like their concepts/protos when they finally reach production

Twin turbo means aftermarket will go nuts for it.

Long time no see! I have actually been stalking the forums lately, planning how I am going to finish off my 260z that's been in my dad's shed for the last 15 years.

Anyway, tuned in to the reveal last night and I hated it at first. But with a few small tweaks and removing that horrible yellow I think I am starting to fall in love with it. Here is my edit, shaping the grill, round headlight inserts, coloured roof, darkened katana and more traditional door handle :)

I think the back end looks great, the front end not so much. Your grill redesign looks a lot better sexual_sushi!

One thing I hate about most modern car designs (and the new Supra is SO BAD with this) is just how much height there is between the top of the wheel and the top of the wheel arch/bonnet. In the case of this Z, take an inch or so out and, in my opinion at least, it looks a lot better - lower, sleeker.

In the rendering I attached I also modified the front headlamp so that the intersection point no longer creates the hard break line (another point of contention for me).

P.S Do you think the value of S30's will go up or down once these new Z's become available?

That transition is interesting, the general profile before looks fairly 350/370z and more S30 after your changes.

I don't think it can hurt values given it's a totally different buyer. But good modern Nissans and Z cars should increase interest in S30s and ensure they remain relevant and interesting to more people in the future.

Yeah I agree with @brent012. The S30 will attract more attention due to the 400z coming.

The only thing in comparison to the Toyota EA86 was that there was a huge gap since the last 86 production in 1987 and after 30 years they released the new Toyota 86 in partnership with Subaru.  People went nuts searching for the EA86 that drove up prices but even since then the prices haven't sky-rocketed as people expected.

Same thing with the new Ford Mustang but the S30z will slowly increase.

Yes I always thought this about the 350z and 370z! Looks great dropped, looks even more European :)

The 400 has 285 wide tyres at the back, that's pretty good standard. My 350 will take 10" wide wheels at a squeeze so I'm guessing that the 400 will take 10+" at the rear with stock guards.

So who has put down a deposit already!?

Been thinking about it but not sure. Its nice but is it really worth all the hype?

Is it comparable to the S30 chassis, never but again its paying tribute to the history of the cars past. But would this be something to collect or daily.

Tooo many questions

Im half hearted but would love to upgrade my daily, or again should I wait lol

I would say chalk and cheese.

I wouldn't think this would be a collector's car, I assume if will be mass produced like the 350z & 370z. If they do Nismo versions, they might be worth collecting. If I was in the market for one, it would be a daily, or something I would definitely drive very regularly.

You can always put a deposit down now, and then if you change your mind later, get a refund, I believe they are refundable anyway.
