  1. Diff is based around a late model MR30 Skyline unit with a 3.9 ratio - it'll be going in tomorrow
  2. I'm glad to see it will be 'mirroring' the original.
  3. Thank goodness we've gotten to the bottom of this mystery. I was about to call in the CIB...
  4. What's wrong with your original? It'd probably be easier to repair it... There was some advertised on Facebook on the Australian Z pages.
  5. No longer required.
  6. Everything is so bight and shiny, we have to wear sunglasses when working on it.
  7. I have a brand new pair of these I'm not going to use. $850 + postage.
  8. Yep, big reveal once it painted and on the road.

    Trim Clips

They hold the taillight trims in place on the bottom of the panel. They should be welded into position. Don't loose them as they are impossible to procure!
  10. I have one out of a '71, complete with loom, gauges and original radio. Needs reskinning. $3k
  11. Les Collins Racing in Warragul
  12. All fuel and brake lines are in. Battery tray is bolted in. Front end is going together now. I'm taking my time and doing it right. I'll be back to it on Monday (15th) as I have a Monaro to finish tomorrow...
  13. As the title says, I'm looking to buy a pair of Comp arms/ knuckles. PM me, or call: Zero Four Zero Zero Zero Five Four Five Seven Two
  14. Yep! The Z made it onto the hoist today and tomorrow we start assembly! And the first thing to go back together is the Brake Pressure Switch:
  15. The ol' boy I employ part time - who worked at Nissan dealerships from '68 till '82 - said that all Australian Nissan's came into the dealership with the compliance tag and paperwork in the glove box. And that it was up to the mechanics to perform PD to fit them. Not all cars got fitted with their compliance tag for one reason or another, and every mechanic riveted them in a different spot. In other words, don't get hung up on compliance tags...
  16. Mike, as a part of my business I also offer vehicle inspections. If you want to look at that Z in Sydney, shoot me a text.
  17. I leave them as the factory lap joints, however I prep them as best as possible with a generous application of weld through primer.
  18. Any of the US Datsun suppliers are difficult to deal with.
  19. Completely false. It's an old panel beaters excuse they use because they can't weld and can't 'afford' the time to butt weld a panel in correctly. There's no AS for 'vehicle restoration' - feel free to look it up. Also repairs to a vehicle over 10 years old don't actually require an inspection or engineers report, unless significant chassis modifications have been made. I do however need to state this: unless you are competent welder and have some idea rust repairs, it's best left to professionals.
  20. Inside of the guards have now been painted with stonechip and colour. And the inside of the bonnet, doors and hatch are now in colour. I'm still waiting on the plating to come back from the electroplaters...
  21. Oh shit! I painted the underbody in beige, the engine bay in off-white and the interior in ivory! Back to the paint booth I go...
  22. I know exactly how it was achieved. However, like Greg's Green Hornet engine in California, Les Collins as asked me not to disclose details.
  23. Pedals are all the same. The pedal box is different.
