  1. It was yesterday.
  2. Not on ebay, but spotted this post on ozdat: Posted: Sun Feb 17, 2013 1:54 pm http://ozdat.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=55&t=30708
  3. That purple 2+2. Ugly or not, I like it. This though, I don't like. Pantera hatch = puke.
  4. My first 240Z back around 1988 when I was 18. Before: After:
  5. Had a turbo auto and an NA manual, sold them both. Not worth spending any money on. lost about a grand that i spent on new parts. Lesson learnt.
  6. About the Silvia, total production is believed to be 554 cars from 1965 to 1967 of which 49 were imported to Australia. There's less of them here now, as they usually get shipped over seas when they come up for sale. I've been keeping an eye on them: http://nostalgictrio.com/blog/?sectionid=15 Not as pretty as the Toyota 2000GT, and no where near the price either.
  7. Another thing to watch out for is that since you are keeping the R180, an R200 moustache bar won't work. Different bolt spacing on the R180 vs R200. If I recall correctly.
  8. Nissan Gallery in Ginza sometimes has a few older cars from the Zama storage facility on display. http://japanesenostalgiccar.com/2012/08/10/the-origins-of-nissans-ginza-gallery-and-miss-fairlady/ eg: random youtube vid (C110 GTR)
  9. Ah, Pat's old Z. Did you buy it off a guy called Frank?
  10. Neither of them will fit, due to the rear suspension transverse link that holds the back of the 'A' arms together. There is no room for the finned area of the diff cover on a standard 240/260Z. See this pic, item number 3. http://www.zhome.com/ZCMnL/tech/240ZRearTransversLink.jpg Note: this is the early 240Z before they moved the diff further back, and closer to the transverse link to reduce the angle of the driveshafts. To use a finned cover you would have to do something like this: http://arizonazcar.com/diffmount.html As dat2kman said, tapped standard cover and a cooler is the cheaper option. Also, not too sure about the legalities of fitting and AZC rear end in Aus. Mr Plod may not be too impressed with all the bling. Talk to your engineer or relevant government authority before ordering, if planning to use this on the road.
  11. Hi Mick Maybe the 280z alternator swap instructions might be of help? Same concept - going from externally regulated to internally regulated alt. http://www.atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/alternatorswap/index.html
  12. It should screw into the upper disc, the one that is electrically isolated, until you push it down and it contacts the base of the steering wheel hub, completing the circuit, sounding the horn. (pic stolen form another site)
  13. More info on the calendar http://www.wazregister.com/index.php?title=Calendar_2012
  14. FYI WA readers, we already have a 240/260Z club (registered, cams affiliated, etc) if anyone in WA wants more info about the club: www.wazregister.com
  15. Different offset wheels front and back, and you have one of the back ones on the front, and vice versa? or hubs/struts on one side from a later 280zx with different hubs? (Not sure how/if they changed over the years)
  16. This Sunday people. If you're bringing a Z along, get there before the 12:00pm start time, to park it up with the rest of the Z's Spectators from 12:00pm See you there.
  17. DATSUN 240Z & 260Z REGISTER of WA (inc) Z DAY When: Sunday 28th October 2012 - 12:00pm to 3:00pm Where: Belmont Sports and Recreation Club, cnr Abernethy & Keane St, Belmont/Cloverdale
  18. Actually its neither, it's a Farilady Z
  19. But then it would be bought not built.
  20. Not unless you have zg hinges. Standard hinges lift the bonnet up and out to clear the bumper over riders. Is this car getting the zg treatment?
  21. Arrrrrrrgggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!
  22. Don't think there are any. Wreckers are a business, so they have to keep parts that are in demand. I doubt you'd find any with cars as old as Z's. I hear that when scrap metal prices were high a few years back they crushed all their old cars for scrap. Best bet is to try Martin Falconer, or keep an eye on the quokka/gumtree for cheap 260Z's or join the WA Z Register email list.
  23. It's like a zombie it just keeps coming back: now at www.auz31club.net (same forum, easier to remember name). So now the 11 Z31 owners left in Australia can keep on chatting about leaking vacuum hoses and injectors.
  24. Megasquirt is a open source community designed ECU, there is no one to call for support. You should be aware of this before deciding whether to use one or go with a an ECU designed and built by a company, like Haltech or Mictotech that support their product. Sure you can buy pre-assembled Megasquirt units, but they are not backed by a company that designed them.
  25. Happened to watch some current affairs show last night in which they quoted annual revenue from speed cameras: NSW: 2.5 million QLD: 49 million VIC: 52.3 million per year!
