  1. It's an electric car too. Concepts never end up looking like the concept when they get to production. They are always less radical looking. Take the 370Z for example. This is the 370Z design by Randy Rodriguez that won the competition to become the 370Z. Once Nissan Japan had their way with, it's hardly recognisable as the same design, even though thats the design they were working off to create the 370.
  2. Yeah but to be fair that 260Z was far from stock.
  3. Red 240Z you say, that narrows it down a bit
  4. Hey Jinxed. They are just fairladys (no Z on the end). You need to get intouch with the DRCWA to see of you can get this little beastie along Might be able to contact them through here: http://au.groups.yahoo.com/group/drcwa/?tab=s I was going to link to their website, but google tells me is distributing malware, so best not to visit it. You might want to mention it to them if you talk to them.
  5. 240z to 350Z Drag race 350Z with a brief look at each model before it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zjCu0ZBW25w
  6. Yep. Yue Loong (A Taiwanese car company) built a variety of Nissans under licence. Mostly early Bluebirds and Cedrics.
  7. I would have sworn black and blue that it was a lotus elan circa 1989 to 1995 http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/be/Lotus_Elan.jpg So I hit up wikipedia to prove it was and discovered that KIA bought the rights to the design and manufactured them. So I'd guess its a Kia Elan. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/00/KiaElan2.jpg Saw a Lotus one for sale in Perth the other day, which is how I knew it was a lotus. The 2013 Elan looks like a bit like a Lambo: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/59/Lotus_Paris_1.JPG Trick question eh. Heres another one: What car is this (aka, when is a Datsun not a Datsun):
  8. I'd have to disagree. 518 would be early 1971. some time between January and May. I know the guy with car number HS30 00501, and it gets a special mention in the Nissan FSM's as the first car to roll off the production line in 01/1971. Its also listed in the Service bulletin as the first of the Series II cars for Jan 1971, along with HLS30-21001 which gives some indication of the difference in the volume of left hand drive cars produced against right hand drive cars produced. By 1971 they had made over 20,000 left had drive export models, and only 500 right hand drive export models.
  9. Hi Paul I'd say yours is around 08/1970 going by the engine number. Would have bee rolling off the production line around the same time as HLS30-08128
  10. Your car is a late 1970 build, judging by the original engine number. Engine numbers for Z cars that were built in 1969 (which we never got here in Aus as far as I can tell ) end in the low thousands ( 4 digit engine number not including leading zeros). Eg if you engine number is in the low thousands, such as 002518 , it's a 1969. Yours is in the 20,000's which puts it about late 1970, Probably 12/1970.
  11. Hmmm, picture of a 280Z on the page about the 240Z (page 7) and over the page the author claims the Fairlady Z is powered by a 2 litre straight six, the same 2 litre straight six that powered the Fairlady roadster Nice pictures though.
  12. I meant in the title. A Datsun 280Z is an S30 USA spec Z. That there is a 280ZX. In the JDM they were "Nissan" Fairlady 280Z. No such thing as a "Datsun" 280Z on the S130 chassis.
  13. You forgot the 'X'
  14. In WA, yes and no. We got alot of gray market second hand cars being sold by car dealers in the early 90's until some law was passed making it harder to import them, as the new car yards were crying foul. Not sure if that happened in the rest of the country. So no it wasn't uncommon to see JDM only models cruising the streets of Perth back then, there were boat loads of JDM RX-7's, Cordia Turbos, Fairlady Z's and the odd C210 GT2000 turbo Skylines, and lots of R30's shipped over. These days though, yep. Most of them ended up as scrap metal after they were used and abused.
  15. Maybe if he checked in here a bit more regularly he'd have known what he was getting into http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=337
  16. Nope that's the Coil.

  18. Eiji hasn't cut his guards.
  19. Is the Car in the USA or over here? What cars are worth in one country can have little relevance to what they are worth in another country.
  20. Here's some design sketches http://japanesenostalgiccar.com/blog/2010/04/27/nissan-c110-skyline-design-sketches/ Ant the finished product
