  1. Looks like a nice one. Pity it didn't arrive in time for the Z meeting last Sunday, but there's the autotest event this Sunday
  2. This Sunday is the Murdoch auto test for WA Z Register members (Club membership and CAMS licence required. CAMS licence available on the day). It's run in conjunction with the Triumph Sports Owners Association of WA. Its a motorkhana style event held in the Murdoch University Car Park. Spectators welcome, Car Park 1 Murdoch University. Map: http://www.murdoch.edu.au/maps/murdoch/ A previous event http://wazregister.com/index.php?title=Murdoch_11_2008
  3. Yeah I seem to remember it was on ebay for about $29,000. Funny that Shannons value it at $15000 to $20000. Owner is a bit optimistic with the asking price I think.
  4. Someone did a similar modification to my 240K, except you still have to put the key in and turn it to 'on' to get the power to the ignition circuit, then press the button to activate the starter.
  5. Almost $400 for an open diff?? http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150413627099
  6. Yeah. There's 2 show and shine type events for the year. Membership day, and Z Day. I think if there's not enough cars at Z day the prize stuff gets held over till membership day. Membership day is to get everyone along and remind them to renew their membership, and for new Z owners to come out of hiding and for a chat and to see what the club is all about. And for people to catch up. There will be a sausage sizzle to raise money, and drinks (Beer etc) are available at the BSRC Bar. Bring your spare parts you want to get rid of, it's like a Z swap meet too.
  7. Its more like AU$450 The knock 2 decimal places off to get to AUD doesn't work any more with the exchange rate lately. It's more like knock off 2 digits and add a quarter.
  8. Reminder. It's this Sunday people. Come down for a chat, and check out some Z's.
  9. One for the experts: I have 2 cars, one needs gas, the other has gas, but i'll be wrecking that car. Anyway to recover the gas from one car and pump it into another?
  10. Turbo parts aren't hard to find from the US. I bought my turbo parts from ebay seller blax240. He doesn't have any turbo parts listed at the moment, but if you send him a message, he may have some in stock. Also got some parts from nzeder (Now if I just had some time to build an engine ) Not sure what the legalities are with an RB swap over here. It might be less of a headache with the traffic dept if you keep the L. Obviously, an RB30DET will make more power, so if power is your ultimate goal don't waste time on turboing the L, But an L30ET should be more than capable of 240HP.
  11. I think you should keep the L and turbo that. Note: This is a front sump Skyline motor, so its not a drop in replacement for a Z. You will need a Z sump and oil pickup and need to have the dipstick moved. Easy modification, but thought it needed mentioning.
  12. Jebus that is expensive. WA Z Register is hosted with AussieHQ for around $250 a year (1 gig disc space, 10gig traffic per month, cpanel), and I haven't had any problems with them and support is great. (They bought out the old host we were with who were bordering on incompetent).
  13. Yep there's a new type of spambot/spam person i've noticed lately. They pick a topic, source some relevant (as far as they know) content from another website (in this case content came from http://www.zhome.com/ZCMnL/240ZTSignalMod/turnsgn1.htm ), post the comment so it seems relevant, then add a link spam on the end. I first noticed it on OZDAT when a spammer posted something that made no sense at all in the context of Datsun 180B's. A google search of what they posted led me to a gun forum where the post they copied word for word was talking about a particular model of rifle called a 180B.
  14. No. Sorry Lubu. Thats just a generic mirror available from places like Super Cheap Auto for about $40 for a pair.
  15. Ah, don't worry about it. All white 260Z 2+2's look pretty much the same anyway.
  16. And no Z to drive for the next 7 years while you fix all the issues, and pay rego on a daily driver. Get a 2+2. They are cheaper.
  17. No. It just looks a bit like a 260 who's owner I used to know when I was at uni. She sold it to one of the lecturers who lived up that way. His name was Mike. I knew he was selling it a while back. Thought it might have been the same car. Who knows, maybe Matt bought it from Mike, and now its yours What diff have you put in it? I noticed you were selling the original one.
  18. Why do they say off road use only when the early zeds came with clear lenses from the factory?
  19. Wasn't an English guy called Mike was it?
  20. Datsun 240Z & 260Z REGISTER of WA MEMBERSHIP DAY SUNDAY February 21st 2010 Start 1200 HRS Early birds 1100hrs Venue: Belmont Sports & Recreation Club Abernethy & Keene St, Belmont/Cloverdale (By front fence under trees) Membership Fees payable on the day. Members Perpetual Trophy (Members only) Peoples Choice, (Open to all comers) Sausage Sizzle (Drinks available at bar.) Swap Meet for Z equipment. Clubman & Drivers points competition for 2009 presentation.
  21. They should copy the factory optional Fairlady Z (240Z) mag, and the works rally version.
  22. Better treat that rust on the inside leading edge of your bonnet, and splash some paint on it Zedman
  23. The Fairlady Z and the 432 had the same mesh grill. The only Fairlady Z that had a different gauge of mesh was the 432R. The racing version. It had a finer mesh / smaller holes, the reason being the oil cooler was up in the front of the radiator and the finer mesh protected it more from stone damage.
  24. You cant use a 240Z grill on a 260Z. Well you can, but its not a direct bolt on. The mounting points on the lower part of the grill are in different positions on the 240z when compared to the 260Z. My 240Z grill was damaged, so I used it and parts from a 260Z grill to repair it. You can drill out the mounting bracket off the grill and fit ones to suit your car if you have them.
