  1. Don't happen to know what suburb the guy you sold it to lived in do you?
  2. Judging by the ebay photos, I'd have to say the PPSR (whoever they are) are wrong. Sounds like they made a data entry error when converting their printed records into electronic format. Cream, rhymes with green, or an OCR scanning error. Its known to happen. My chassis nuber starts with H530 (yes thats a number 5 not an S on the official records). That combined with the fact that there was never a factory cream colour for the 240Z, and that the inside of the tool boxes are green with the original jack stowage sticker on them, I'd guarantee 99.9% probablility it was originally 113 metallic green. The only way to completely change the color of a car is to do a complete tear down to a bare shell. This car, althouth it has had a bare metal respray on the outside (said the ebay advert), the interior looks fairly standard for the age (chrome peeling off the door cards, general wear) and so does the engin bay. Look up under the dashboard, is it green? Behind the firewall insulation? Under the transmission tunnel vinyl? Your car is originaly 113 Metallic green. Cream is an error.
  3. "Matching numbers" in Australia, simply means the car has the original engine it left the factory with (as evidenced by paperwork or ID tags i.e. the stamped engine number, is the same as the engine number on the id tag, or sales documentation). The American definition of the term (where the cars engine and body both had the same number) is not what we mean down under. Hence, the Australian definition of the term can be applied to most cars regardless of where they were built.
  4. Straight swap aparently http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,1320.msg9329.html#msg9329
  5. try searching noob http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php?topic=5712.0 (last couple of posts) ;D
  6. Worst mistake Toyota made with the Celica was making it front wheel drive. I used to have an RA28 back in the 90's. The last of the cool Celicas.
  7. Did you have a look at the green one? What number was it? Other thoughts...
  8. 2 x 240z for $5000 ono is practically giving them away.
  9. One straight 6 rotary coming up
  10. No I believe you need both the crown wheel and a matching pinion. The pinion from the short nose wont fit in a long-nose R200 case.
  11. Change the gearset in the diff instead?
  12. Good advice. If you dont, you may fix the visible issues, only to have other areas start showing through later after you have spent more on it.
  13. Unless you need a second car, save the money for your Z. Other wise you end up with 10 Datsuns, none of which are drivable.
  14. Sometimes maybe you should consider other peoples opinions .
  15. But possibly not legal for the drivers side in most state i'd guess. Japanese imports over here require the factory convex mirror to be replaced with flat mirror.
  16. Apart from the fact is was (apparently a replica, or not depending on which website you read) a Porsche 917 and the sum was around 110 thousand pounds, yep. The other car he didn't blow up was Nick Masons Ferrari 512S. I can use google
  17. A video of Nicks GTO http://www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/goodwood-revival/8744816/Nick-Masons-20million-Ferrari-250-GTO.html
  18. General concensus of this thread is that his is the real deal (bought in 1970's for 35,000 pounds). http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/vintage-thru-365-gtc4-sponsored-vintage-driving-machines/76059-did-nick-mason-have-copy-his-250gto-made.html#post135230083 Does he seem like a shady charater to you? Some of his other cars:
  19. I'll put some authentic dents in it if you like
  20. "Datson" 240z rolling chassis $600. http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/seven-hills/wheels-tyres-rims/datson-240z-1971-rolling-shell/1044226178
  21. Actually I've seen both, but above the bumper more often than below the bumper (but both attached to the bumper). http://wazregister.com/membercars/hayden/images/1743P8160036.jpg http://images-2.drive.com.au/2012/05/11/3287360/datsun_2_729-420x0.jpg http://www.uniquecarsandparts.com.au/images/car_info/datsun_240Z.jpg https://www.flickr.com/groups/36301434@N00/pool/with/12993786584/lightbox/ Alan....?
  22. Externally Aus cars didnt have side markers or side indicators and had bumper overriders, UK ones had front side indicators, deleted front indicators (replaced with rectangular above bumper indicators in the grill area) and no bumper overriders. So they are quite different.
  23. 280Z 2+2 (from memory ) features quit a bit in a movie called "Safety not Guaranteed" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1862079/ Its a bit of a POS though.
  24. Is it not an L series fuel pump? Some varients of the B210 did come with an L14 or L16 series engine. I'm sure you would have no probelm selling it to someone with a 510 if it is. Why not just buy a nissan fuel pump from the USA? http://www.nissanpartszone.com/parts/nissan-fuel-pump~17010-e4127.html Are you trying to do a concourse restoration or something? Thats a nice email. At least they had the courtesy to reply to you in your language, which is probably more courtesy that you afforded them? Yours would be the S30, not the PS30.
  25. Off the top of my head, I nominate the 1973 UK (Euro?) spec 240Z. It has different front turn signal locations, front spoiler (and rear view mirrors? or are they after market?) eg http://www.rigsofrods.com/images/imported/2013/06/datsunLarge-1.jpg And delete Z BAIT and replace it with Big Sam Its more famous. and swap : 10. 1973 North American 240Z with T-top and maybe another accessory (T top was not a dealer or factory option, and was not available by 1973 due to the company going bust, and the owner having a heart attack. Only "several" cars has these fitted) with an Aussie spec 240z (1970 to 1972, as they had no side turn signals or rear side markers eg:)http://museumvictoria.com.au/collections/itemimages/146/124/146124_large.jpg Also, if you had all the cars pointing to the right, instead of the left you could show the differences in petro flaps. Some had door style locks, some just had finger tabs, some had these: http://thumbs1.ebaystatic.com/d/l225/m/ma8IMboL2vC21lLLo8ZX9Ng.jpg On second though, maybe not. You've already got a hard enough job getting all the different model right.
