  1. Wouldn't be anything left of that red 240z in 10 years. What sort of money were they asking? Not worth more than $2500 in my opinion. Good condition? tell him he's dreaming!
  2. I haven't seen a Starion or for that matter a Cordia since .... forever. I wouldn't think 80s cars are that collectable. 80s seems to be the time that car fans forgot. With the odd exception (e.g., 80s euro sports cars). I had been thinking about selling my second Silvia, but maybe I'll hang on to it to see what the market does. Apparently the best examples are selling for $50,000 to $70,000 in Japan and the USA, or so Eric from JDM Legends tells me.
  3. Honestly, the rev restored 260Z was a much better buy at 25K. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,12986.0.html
  4. Another set http://page11.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/n144547753
  5. It's hardly noticeable if done right. e.g. I believe the car on the right in the picture has had the valance trimmed IIRC. http://wazregister.com/gallery/2014%20Z%20Day/images/DSC03694.JPG
  6. Good luck with that. Most sell within an hour of being advertised.
  7. Always thought the burning man Z wouldn't look too out of place in a mad max movie.
  8. Probably R31 Skyline steel wheels.
  9. Yep, thats the Perrenti.
  10. Sounds a bit like a beige one in Queensland. I don't know if it was ever in Victoria though. I hope it got saved.
  11. It's all user submitted data. So accuracy can vary. Not as accurate as my Nissan Silvia CSP311 Register which is mostly verified by photos of chassis numbers & ID plates. http://csp311.org/page.php?action=register I have plans to update the Z register at some point as time permits.
  12. I had one (and a parts car). Got them free. Parts car went for scrap after I stripped most parts off it. Sold the other one some years later for $600 or $800, I don't remember which. Guy that bought it, fixed the few spots of rust, put a new carbie on it and got it running and licenced. He then sold it to a P-plater with more money than sense for $6800 who promptly blew up the engine. I don't know what happened to it after that. Sold of the rest of the parts I had for $150.
  13. About $1000 over priced.
  14. Was in Perth for $6500, apparently in a lot worse condition than the pics. A review by someone that looked at it: And from the buyers mate:
  15. Hagerty Buyers Guide for the 240Z
  16. If you bought 3 apple shares in 2010 it would have cost you $1020 ($340 each). After the 7 for 1 stock split you would have 21 shares which today would be worth $2683. of course you would have gotten some dividends as well.
  17. Quite right, came back to edit, but you beat me to it.
  18. Make sure its closed cell foam, as its designed to not hold moisture. Ordinary foam would be like using a sponge.
  19. Two different discussions going on in this thread. Maybe all the CAMS talk needs to be split off into a new topic. Re: CAMS wheel requirements, best chance is trying to find an owner in Spain that has the original sales papers and hope they list the wheels on there, since by what i've read they (Kobe Seiko mags) were fitted as standard to Zs sold in Spain. Or USA Dealership sales papers, like the ones I linked earlier (from a car on eBay) that list the type and size of the mags US dealers fitted. You'd need to start on one of the international forums.
  20. That ties in with what the guy with the Red 240z said about having Ross's struts in his car, which was bought from Alan Stean.
  21. Shared: https://www.facebook.com/groups/wazregister/ http://www.wazregister.com/index.php?sectionid=23 and by wazregister email list. You should join the WA Z register Facebook group Ross, and post events on there. https://www.facebook.com/groups/wazregister/
  22. Perth people just seem to not want to pay the same amount that you eastern states guys do. When I was selling my 240Z just before christmas, most of the serious interest was from the eastern states, but because it wasn't drivable, transporting it across the country was an issue. I have no doubt it will sell, maybe not for $7000, but then, it might just be a case of waiting for the right buyer. Might end up in Graeme's collection, if someone doesn't snap it up quick.
  23. Seems overpriced for the Perth market in that condition (sunroof, no engine, no gearbox, mostly disassembled, unfixed rust).
