  1. php. I run it manually on the server, but no reason why you couldn't automate it via a cron.
  2. I wrote something similar for ozdat. It can scan a forum thread looking for off site image links and cache local copies of the images incase they go missing at a later. It can also try to retrieve missing images from archive.org
  3. I think you are right Enzo.
  4. I know, so I wont tell, but I'll give a clue: It's the first of its series.
  5. Do tell. Is it in the page source javascript somewhere?
  6. I wouldn't have thought any Australian bound S30 would have had an Air/Smog Pump.
  7. Yes USA market cars were made slightly earlier than Aus delivered cars (a lot earlier actually). There were no such things as compliance plates in 1969, so photos aren't going to happen. Looks like it's a late 1970 build November/December 1970
  8. I'd expect your engine number to be somewhere around 155000 to 160000 Engine block numbers ran in series. If you are missing your compliance plate, you can compare your original engine number against engine numbers of USA delivered S30s, which had build dates to work out what sort of build date your car would have, as well as comparing your chassis number to the Australian S30Z register and engine numbers listed there. (note: you can't compare chassis numbers to USA chassis numbers, because the lines ran in parallel, and the chassis numbers have no relation to each other.) For example from the Australian S30Z register HS30-00689 240Z 1971 Owner hasn't listed a compliance date, but we know its a 1971 car. Original engine number is L24-030691 Cross referencing the USA registers we can see that this engine number sits right between L24 030547 with a build date of 2/1971 and L24 030688 the build date of 3/1971. Which means it probably has a build date of 3/1971. Compliance dates are less accurate, as they were fitted when the cars arrived in Australia.
  9. Original engine number, not the number of whatever engine is sitting in the bay currently.
  10. What is the original engine number? Engine number is the best method to accurately determine a build date.
  11. Spotted this car for sale again on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/downunderdatsuns/permalink/1303766932975901/ 270hp L28 engine has been replaced with the original matching numbers L24 150hp engine. Same price. $35K
  12. Coming up on 13 years, but I haven actually done any "work" to it in about 10 years. So technically I have only been working on it for 3 years. Still looks like this, but with my parents crap all over it (It's stored at their house).
  13. 75 Fairlady Z 2+2 over in WA $17,000 http://wazregister.com/?postid=174
  14. DATSUN 240Z & 260Z REGISTER of WA (inc) Z DAY. We hope to bring you all of our usual fair, including free sausage sizzle, trophies, merchandise, other Datsun cars, lots of Zeds and likeminded people to chat to. This year’s theme will be race cars. So keep the date free, 16th of October from noon at the Belmont Sports and Rec Club grounds corner of Abernathy Road and Keane Street Cloverdale. There will be four trophies on offer. The perpetual trophy awarded to a 240Z or 260Z of a paid up club member and judged on the day to a secret topic. There will be two people’s choice trophies, one for the best 240Z / 260Z and one for the best Datsun / Nissan. Last year we introduced a new trophy called the “Pist”n Broke” award. The award is to be given to someone who has made a bit of a clanger during the year. Last year it was won by the man who donated the damaged piston that was made into the trophy, only seemed fitting. So this year I need nominations please, send them through and I will sort the best case and we will have a bit of fun at someone else’s expense on the day! Remember to put the date on the fridge. SUNDAY OCTOBER 16th FROM 12 NOON Belmont Sports and Rec Club Corner of Abernathy Rd and Keane St Cloverdale
  15. HS30 00164 Saw it on Facebook Today.
  16. Side feed or top feed?
  17. Criminal http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3014866/ Wasn't actually too bad if you can suspend disbelief of the "transference of memories" and "taking over the military network "plot devices. Lots of famous actors in it too.
  18. Factory 260z mirrors are the same as 240z mirrors. Reasonably priced 260Z coupe. $18,000 https://www.facebook.com/groups/downunderdatsuns/permalink/1214638348555427/ Makes that $12,500 full resto required 260z in the for sale section look waaaaaaaaaaaaaay overpriced.
  19. I think it's a bit steep considering you could have picked this up for ~18-19K around christmas time http://www.wazregister.com/index.php?postid=166
