  1. 240Z ? The guts of a 260Z speedo can be swapped into a 240Z housing for kph. Also as Linton says, make sure your cable is in good condition. Also check the condition of the gear drive and worm gear. Plenty of GPS speedo apps available for smart phones too.

  5. No, there is another. The Celica XX Supra was the first Supra, based on the A40 chassis was the first Supra (MA46). It was called Supra in markets outside of Japan, but I dont believe it was ever sold in Australia. The Mk2 is the one you are thinking of, based on the Celica you have, but a whole lot better looking with its flares, roof spoiler and pop up headlights. It was the epitome of 80's Japanese boxy coolness.
  6. I think you will find the first Supra was based off the RA40.   9. Old post bump. I was parked next to the newer model Cayman yesterday, and noticed Porsche had revised the Cayman at some point. It now looks even more like an S30 window shape than the earlier model.

  11. According to the video they say its a 240z. It was apparently modified to look like a 280Z. No idea why someone would do that. Maybe they wanted it to look like a newer model car back in the day. It does have a 240Z dash, and Steering wheel. Early style door jambs, so could be either a 280 or 240. Probably makes more sense that its a 280z with a 240Z dash, rather than the other way around.

  13. Interesting data, but it shouldn't be considered as gospel. Data for WA 240K is wrong. There were more than zero registered between 2001 and 2012. I know because I was driving one in that time period, and another guy from facebook said his was registered in that time as well. The Data for 240Z and 260Z is also wrong. I know from going to our Z meetings for the last 11 years there were more than that registered. Most not on any sort of club rego. The fact that the WA rego department screwed up alot of the records when converting between computer systems probably doesn't help the accuracy of these numbers. My 240z is officially listed on the rego papers as a Datsun H530 Sedan. I dare say there are alot of other H530 Zeds in WA You assume correctly.   15. Yeah they are, you can see the bonnet bulge in the first car, and I think the petrol filler cap looked a bit different on the TA22. My brother had a TA22, Mum had an RA23, and I had an RA28 all about the same time in the 1990s. My RA28 in the background.
  16. Pretty sure we only ever got the TA22, RA23 and RA28 in Australia. TA22 didn't have the central bonnet bulge, instead it had the two raised vents either side of the bonnet. And the slanted indicators. RA23 and RA28 are essentially the same, except the 28 being the lift-back.

  20. He's owned it since 1980. Its in pretty good condition. Paint is a bit dull, but basically no rust. I'd have bought it myself, if i were in a better financial position.
  21. How long were the Fairlady 240Z variants produced, from 1971 right up until 1977? I cant recall ever seeing pictures of one, but I would imagine there would be Fairlady 240Z/L/G based on the later chassis (what we would call a 260Z body).   22. The S130, what we know as the 280ZX, was available in Japan with a 2.0 L6 or a 2.8 L6. They went by various names, Fairlady 200Z and Fairlady 280Z. Not sure if the ZX was used in that market.
