  1. Hi, I was just wondering if anyone has gotten a quote/bought stuff from 'Zcarsource' or 'TheZedstore' and can tell me if postage was a killer ? Im in need of a front and rear glass seals or even a Weatherstrip Kit for a 260z 2+2 and I noticed that the costs over their was a fraction of the cost compared to buying local. If postage costs are high, can anyone recommend a decent local source for Rubbers. Thanks, any help would be appreciated.
  2. Yeah if you drive a newish Import, you hear about these sort of defects pretty often. But what I found is, that in QLD, you do not need a shift pattern for a manual Gearstick, but need it only for an Automatic car ie' P R N D 2 1 . All my mates that contested this defect got it cleared. It doesn't make sense because so many older cars come out without the shift pattern etc. Also looking into the Car height rules, they are only allowed to measure a metre away from each wheel (which has to be 100mm or more). Between axles/wheels its allowed to be 1/30 of the track length of the car. So essentially everyone that gets done for having a low hanging exhaust under the subframe are allowed to contest it (provided its 1/30 of the track) You would be surprised at how many defects you can get away from (minor/stupid one issued) if you complain (with decency) and with a printout of rules etc.
  3. Here is another couple pics just holding them up against my parts car.
  4. This is why I want to try and figure out what the brand is.I cant put it on my car as the front end is all pulled apart getting fixed/painted up etc. I have a parts car that semi put together, ill fit em to that and try and get some pictures up.
  5. Nah, the 'lip' part doesn't hang down like a Bre spoiler. it almost comes out straight, with a very slight angle downwards
  6. Hi, I bought this front lip from ebay about a year ago and could not for the life of me figure out what brand they are (let alone find a picture of it on a car). they fit pretty well on a 260z 2+2 (not perfect but close enough). they are a two piece with a gap in the middle, and screw straight onto the lower cowl/front bits. If anyone know what they are could you please shed some light
  7. Hi , I ended up going ahead with it at this stage (well Its sitting here in front me haha) . If circumstances change and I end up wanting to off-load it, Ill keep you in Mind.
  8. Ive got a second car already (300zx NA) and essentially driving and building cars is for fun while at uni (the 260z is my serious long term project, about another year left on it). The dilemma is that my little brother will be getting his licence soon, and he wants my 300zx . or 280zx if I can find him one soon. But then this Datsun Sunny came along and im deciding which car I want to keep haha as he said he will drive either Im only 21 but I always prefer cars pre-85 ish . as old always trumps new haha
  9. This is how I feel when someone gives me a negative opinion on my car haha . I currently drive a 300zx, so I get plently of negative ones
  10. HI, thanks appreciate it... i personally havn't had a chance to look at it, but a friend of mine (who works at the wrecking yard it is at) told me that it got their a couple of weeks ago, the guy drove it on and off the truck, plus he said it looks to be neat and in reasonable NIC. I think I may have it as daily until I get my 260z on the road, and yes an L4 will definately be on the cards haha
  11. Hi as the title mentions... Just curious about Value/uniqueness of these cars? -Parts availabilty -common rust spots etc -and anything else in General haha Ive been Scouring the Net for a while and havnt come across much... Ive been offered one to purchase one and im not sure if I want to go ahead with it. Any help would be appreciated.
  12. Also Ive installed s13 front suspension into my 260z, wasnt too difficult. Bit of mucking around but cheaper than any aftermarket stuff for s30 (provided you do the work yourself) . I had a look at a z32 front as well, but there is not enough room for the upper arm/upper arm travel (about 1-2cm of travel before it hits the inner guard).
  13. Honestly you would be better off going with s13 rear subframe as they are narrower than the z32 . Ive measured s13 stuff up under a 260z 2+2 and the hubs are past the guards about 2cm each side. with the bolt points on the subframe coming up between the rear seats and the inner sill. To make room for the 'arms' you need to cut out a lot of the inner guard area and restrengthen somehow. A z32 subrame is about 5-10cm wider than s13. so would be alot harder too fit. for the rear subframe mount points you need to remove the spare wheel well and make a box section between the existing unibody and mounting bolts. Have you considered 'Jaguar' or 'Ford Ba' rear subframe ? they are much more compact and alot easier fab into other cars.
  14. It looks perfect, but so far away haha. Ill see if I can find one up here first. I if don't find one ill let you know. Thanks
  15. Hi, Im chasing a front passenger guard for my 260z 2+2. It doesn't need to be perfect, just needs to be in one piece and reasonably straight. Preferably in the Brisbane area. Thanks.
