  1. Hi Everyone, I've have a set of Triple 44s for sale. 2 were on a 4AGE engine and have thicker chokes in them and 1 is from an unknown source (I probably scored it on eBay a while back) and has a thinner choke in it, is missing 2 main jets and accelerator pump (on bottom) rod is still there. They will all benefit from disassembly clean and going over. Especially the pair off the 4AGE (dirtier). 1 drop link is bent (along with accelator lever) but you'd change this with Triple Manifold + linkage anyway. 1 lid has Mikuni/Solex on it, but the others do not. I don't think there is any difference in operation but I have several carbs and if this is an issue I could probably find a matching lid. Hopefully photos speak for themselves. But if you want more specific ones of anything let me know? I have not run these carbs myself. I bought them to rebuild, but I now have a surplus of 44s and I could use the cash to get my FD RX7 rebuilt. Price is a very firm $4,000. They are not getting easy to find and I'm seeing single carbs on eBay go for $800 USD+ If you have however donated to the site and it's running costs in the past I am however willing to help out as a thank you in return. I wanted to advertise here before Facebook / Gumtree as I'd prefer them to go to member here. If they don't sell, I'm happy to hold onto them and possibly go through with restoration.. I really love these Mikuni/Solex carbs and the way they transform these cars. So much so that I'm not sure I'll ever go back to SUs unless doing a complete restoration. Thanks.
  2. He's like ScoMo, he's Teflon nothing sticks. I wouldn't deal with him. Import your own via a broker with a reputable reputation.
  3. Talking about R32, R33 and R34 GTR prices.
  4. Reason I recommend repair/refurbish what you have is that you know it fits your make/model/year of car. 240z/260z tanks are different and I am not sure with the 280zx what changes happened over the years, but let's say you got another spare and then it didn't fit you'd be back at square 1.
  5. Best bit is, it's not made in China!
  6. Small rattle of the donation tin! Also on the topic that Ryan raised earlier @240ZBUILTBYMEmobile users see a different UI that is optimised for their mobile screen, but this excludes showing the donate button. Since majority of traffic now is mobile based I will look at setting up the donation mobile (recently installed an e-commerce module, but been busy with work so haven't had a chance to configure it completely). Long story short, it will make the donation process more part of the fabric of the website, so I will not have to spend as much admin time matching paypal donations to usernames on the forum etc.. and it will be a subscription basis. Some members are good at setting up regular small donations monthly, which are great. If I could get more of those consistently then it would be a more constant income stream for the site. Thanks all, From Lockdown Victoria.
  7. The answers you seek are in here: My hot tip: 1. Keep your money in Australia. Support local business. 2. The finish from Vinnies I could not fault. They fixed the dents etc.. and can't even tell they were there. 3. You know OEM stuff will fit as it is supposed to. I actually didn't fit mine after re-chromed it because it was too good for my 72. Instead I took the old bumper off #150 and put that on my 72 and have kept the re-chrome bumper for #150 whenever I get that finished! LOL.
  8. @ScottyD- where did you source the mesh filter covers for the trumpets? I've got some here (I got with a job lot of Mikuni stuff I bought) but they don't fit over my Trumpets I'm afraid.
  9. Hot tank and it should be able to shift that shyte out. I used a place in Alexandria Sydney to restore my radiator and fuel tank. https://www.alexandriaradiatorservice.com.au/
  10. haha, do you need 1? I will probably be selling some Triple 44s shortly. I picked up some 50s... and couldn't really afford them. lol.
  11. Nice looking 905 red early 240z on BAT. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1971-datsun-240z-60-2/ I'm a sucker for 905 red with black steelies. My first 240z looked like this when I went to inspect it. So always brings back fond memories.
  12. For pure race car feels!
  13. Yeah, that's true. But also to know what the value of our own hoarde/stash of parts is worth. Should we ever decide to sell anything.
  14. What's wrong with your existing tank? You can get tanks repaired at radiator repair shops usually, which involves flushing out all the crud, welding up any holes/issues and resealing the tank. Finding another tank may be a challenge and may be equally as poor condition.
  15. Anyone need early seat recliners? https://www.ebay.com/itm/324649877666?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&fromMakeTrack=true
  16. AM Radio faceplate + Antenna switch, only $600 USD. https://www.ebay.com/itm/164889378938?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&fromMakeTrack=true Plus shipping.
  17. Yeah nah..
  18. I honestly expected the 240z to get to $70k at least. But either the heat has come out of the market OR it was quite rough in person and needing more work than the listing would have you believe. I don't want to throw mud, but I am almost positive that car was orange (918) when it was repainted about 15 years ago, and the photos of the boot area look "905 red" which to me is odd because it doesn't look like fresh paint. Makes me wonder what changes it's had in the last 15 years. Since it doesn't look like it's had a rotisserie restoration job done.
  19. Just the right amount of wah wah pedal in that track... very sensual.
  20. 189 is missing the original L24, I saw it about 15 years ago. It was Kalahari Orange. I took the majority of the photos of it when it was a shell, but mostly complete car. It was fairly solid for an early car back then and to my memory was 1 of the earliest I'd seen until I started to collect the data in the registry and found earlier cars. I suspect it's had a couple of restorations since, because it's now red and I believe it was still orange after it's last refresh. I was actually offered the car at 1 point for about $10k back then. Or a swap for my 72 240z, but I declined the offer. Not a bad car, I don't recall any major shunts etc.. and only minimal rust in the common areas. I'm keen to see how much people will pay for it.
  21. Sounds like it's safely tucked away from the world.
  22. Lachlan if you get a chance have a look at #51s dashboard and see what that has?
  23. Good to see this 1 is getting started.
  24. I'm with you now, thanks. I thought you may have had some rotating nuts which have been discussed on the forum before.
