datsunrally Posted June 25, 2021 Posted June 25, 2021 While this is apparently a digital mock-up, I wonder what car they used as the source for the Safari Zed…? https://www.whichcar.com.au/news/nissan-juke-rally-concept-240z-east-africa-rally-win-50th-anniversary Jeff gilltech 1 Quote

JDM-TOY Posted June 29, 2021 Posted June 29, 2021 Hmmmm....... I was feeling guilty for modifying my dash cluster section to fit the iC-7. Feel a little better now... Quote
gilltech Posted June 30, 2021 Posted June 30, 2021 Nice but not uncommon. Back in the day in the USA one could buy a turn-key Chevy V8 powered Zed called a Scarab, or buy a kit to do the mod oneself. JDM-TOY 1 Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted June 30, 2021 Administrators Posted June 30, 2021 I don't really see the appeal, a big lugging engine that doesn't like to rev but makes low down torque. Seems better suited to a boulevard cruiser. Not to mention lobbing the roof off an S30z destroys the perfect roofline of the car. To each their own, but not for me. Quote

So what is that Zed then? I don't understand Japanese. It looks a real mess whatever it is, so I can only presume it's something special??? Quote

C.A.R. Posted July 7, 2021 Posted July 7, 2021 (edited) Christ on a Bike! What a amateurish, unprofessional way to effect rust repairs on a critical chassis part! Edited July 7, 2021 by C.A.F. Quote

They appear to be in their own little bubble, and are not even using panels and repair sections that are currently available in Japan, let alone elsewhere. In an early episode they used some Tabco parts which were all over the place, so maybe that put them off...? gav240z 1 Quote
