53-681 Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 (edited) If citation is required for a statement or opinions are expressed via internet forums, then I would hardly call this 'EVIDENCE'. Fact: Vicroads considers 2+2's a coupe (printing reg stickers such as 197x Nissan coupe) Fact: Vic police considers 2+2's as a coupe (Infringment notices state 197x Nissan coupe) Fact: Road toll companies such as Citylink do not conform with the term 2+2 - Only terms such as coupe, sedan, convertible comply My 2c+2c, Edited August 7, 2021 by 53-681 Privacy Quote
saxon Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 My parents own a big 4wd that has "Sedan" on the rego. And there are 4 door "coupes". Point being these terms are used very loosely. When someone says, WTB 240z or 260z coupe there is no doubt what they mean, they want a 2 seater. When someone says they own a 260z coupe there's no doubt what that means. When someone is selling a 2+2 and says WTS 260z coupe and no where does it say that it is a 2+2 that is totally misleading. Sure there are pictures but those new to the scene might not pick it as easily. Quote
luvemfast Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 I still think I'm right. Well that makes 1 off you. If your rellying on Wikipedia and forums to prove your point............ You're probably wrong. 2+2 is still a coupe mate However, it is also referred to as a "bus". So would be handy while driving in peak hour traffic in the bus lanes Quote
260Coupe Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 A 2+2 is also commonly known as a "Station Wagon" but you don't see WGN on a rego sticker ! ;D My 280zx (Boby Dick- the big white whale) is certianly more WGN than CPE..........hehehe Quote
RB30X Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 Personally I think they should all be called hatchbacks Quote

Agno Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 That car has been up for quite some time. Must be pretty horrendous to not be snapped up at that price Quote
Jinxed Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 "technically" they are a lift back, a hatch back is much squarer at the back like a mini station wagon..... sounds better anyway huh!!! Quote

I wonder who's garden it's been sleeping in for the last few years. Could be a good deal provided tin worm hasn't taken hold. Quote
curtis 240z Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 judging by the photos there's a fair bit of cancer. Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted August 17, 2012 Moderators Posted August 17, 2012 Contacted the owner and will have a good look on Tuesday... will take some good close pics but the rear looks pretty badly infested :'( Quote
Scoota G Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 It's not too bad, look like an honest vehicle! Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted August 17, 2012 Moderators Posted August 17, 2012 First time I saw it was around 2007; back then it looked like a barn find type zed. A bit dirty but very original and complete. Damage was done in a car park by somebody backing into it. Rust has progressed unfortunately. Quote
Moderators PB260Z Posted August 17, 2012 Moderators Posted August 17, 2012 I'm only a newbie, but everything I have learnt from this forum suggests that rust is like an iceberg, what you can see is only the tip of the problem. My untrained eye can see a fair bit on her. Still worth a look though Quote
thriller Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Can't be worse than mine! Might not be worth 3k, but as long as the only rusty spots are the common ones it can't be too far gone. Quote
chris240 Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Looks like the yellow one or 9k has sold...be interesting if the new owners turns up here. Quote

They have approx 2000 hand positions, that are held, as they dance. Every one of them means "NO" !!! Can anyone verify the 432 authenticity or price? My guess it's a mockup, not hard to do! Quote

Unless it's a well documented restoration you could be getting yourself into a world of hurt. Quote

Dressed as a Z432-R (Black Bonnet) badges missing, described as a 1975 280zx but has a 1970 240z badge, money is about right for a car in below average to average condition I would think going by prices in Japan, on current exchange rate AUD $73,500 which would support it being genuine. I am trying to contact a friend of mine so she can translate for me. As you have said, really need picture of the engine. Quote
