Think it was listed a while ago (maybe a year or 2 ago).

Anyone seen this one yet?

Says it was immaculate and involved in a workshop fire...... If by workshop they mean that the V8 conversion caught fire, then yeah.

Also need to be careful of the heat affecting structural integrity.

Yeah, its been there a while the one that caught fire. I'm worried about how distrored it will be from heat considering all of the melting that took place inside and the blueing colour of the metal.

Upside is you can see where the bog is\was.

It's also what effect the fire had on tempering of the steel, and what's happened inside all the various cavities, difficult to assess visually without actually working on it.

I asked my Tafe teacher if he would ever buy a car that was in a fire (given he could restore cars the way Ledge in SA does) and he said no, never... That's your answer. :).

Just saw asking price was $10k, you'd need to be mad....

This car is a much better prospect.

This classic 260Z is in very good condition and will suit the enthusiast or Z lover.

Its a true Grand Tourer built for the open road, with crisp handling and performance that made the 260Z a world favourite with motoring journalists.

Finished in striking Red with ever popular black interior, it still looks the goods today.

Sold With original books and material, the Z is a classic for the collector or club member.

Genuine enquirers only

No time wasters please.

Looks like an honest car, great buying for someone. Little bit of rust bubbles in lower door skin but otherwise probably a relatively rust free car. I can't see it lasting too long.

haha yep, that happens. But just like property probably a lot of time wasters, tyre kickers etc.. maybe only 1 or 2 serious buyers. If you really want it don't mess around and talk turkey early on. :).

yeah already have talked to him, tried to put a deposit, wasnt the first person to do so. someone has apparently offered more then advertised too. This guy is a middle man, so he is trying to organise this for an old friend. Will hear back this afternoon :(

Thanks!

Makes all of the other 260z 2seaters & 2+2s advertised seem over priced now! haha

There's a white 2+2 for $32k, and a couple of 2seaters $34k & $35k

Yeah seems to be priced quite low compared to the others.

Maybe the market has turned!! quick everyone time to sell up.

Interesting you say that, there is 3 x Mazda R100's for sale now.

http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/14448-the-global-z-car-s30s130-market-thread/?p=197887

All asking up toward $100k, I do wonder how sustainable that is? I'd love 1, but not at that kind of money.

Of course people who know me, know I'm bearish on Australian Real Estate and we're seeing cooling of the market right now, I do wonder if people are flogging off toys first?

Hard to predict the future, but if we have a real estate correction, you can be sure that the Classic Car market over here will go down with it. How far that adjustment is, will depend entirely on the make and model and if there is global appeal for it.

Aussie Muscle Cars in other words will probably see a bigger correction (in my humble opinion) where as the Classic Japanese stuff has a more global audience.

I sold a really nice clean original R100 for about $5k years ago and at the time it was good money !

If only I had a crystal ball .

I know what you mean, I remember watching this Mazda R100 video on Youtube about 10 years ago and recall the car was being sold around $15k NZD.

I was tempted to buy it back then! I also was tempted by an RX-2 coupe for around $17k (but it was modified with a 13B turbo).

Both cars are worth a fortune now..

Original R100's are few and far between, just so happens 3 are on the market right now though! I guess people will only sell such things if they can get a price they want for it.
