From the ad;

"For Sale, a stunning 1974 Datsun 240Z, one of the last to be made"

"Engine L24-183878"

It might have been first registered in January 1974, but I would call it a 1973 240Z.

9/73 complied 240Z's have engine numbers of L24-189xxx

My record has HS30-103300 as being the car with L24-183878 fitted and it's about 40 rows in the spreadsheet from the end. So not quite the last :).

This car did not sell - there were only two bids (highest was $20,200)

It has been relisted with an even shorter description of -

"240z datsun runs well 3rd owner since new still has rego"

There has already been one bid of $20,000 (which was again the Starting bid) and the Buy It Now price is also the same ($33,000)

The new eBay auction ends this Sunday - (10 Dec, 2017 22:03:13 AEDST)

The seller has, however, added the following new photos;

The registration is ECC-111 and NSW returns the following information when you do a look up.

VIN/chassis: xxxxxxxxxxxxx0997

I think it's HS30-100997 - but it's just a guess..

If it is indeed a UK car (and with that bumper very likely).

HS30-100992 was also a UK car.. See photos here.

HS30-101151 was also a UK car.. although I have no photos of it.

By the way, the car also has a defrost switch in the console and hazard switch in the dashboard, further indicating it was not an AU market car originally.

Don McKays Targa car SC Racer, initially built it for Michael Corke by Zshop, then sold to Don who still races it.

Is this the same car that was for sale in SA a few months ago ?

Oh yes! If I didn't buy the latest 240z I'd probably have jumped on it. Always wanted 1. Great car if I end up with a couple of kids in future. 2 seaters are a little painful in that regard.

I'd love one of these!!

Spare parts would be a nightmare I would imagine?

Jump on Buyee.jp and search for S54B you'll find you can still get stuff... although it would be helpful to have contacts in Japan.

I loved the red 1 that was brought to Sydney this year (fella with the trailer, full kit and caboodle etc.) I can't recall his name now. But man, what a stunning looking car.

76 Fairlady Z for sale at Heartbeat cars NSW

One of the most expensive Zs on the Australian market at the moment.

What price are they asking? Good to see a Gnose car. But it's a 74+ Fairlady back dated to look early. Not sure I'm a fan of this importer yet. Don't trust any of them along Parramatta Rd. This lot seems to be a new entity with a lot of cash to buy up Classic J-tin mind you they are asking top dollar. The Rx3 Savanna they had looked great but with close to $100k asking price.

They are asking $80k for the 76 Gnose. I assume they are just focusing on importing the higher end vehicles then.

$80k is a premium price, probably same car would sell for $45k in Japan at most. Not sure what else has been done to it?

Sunrise, heatbeat.. It's the all the same people.

Google Edward Lees Imports and read some of the articles. Or the current affair segment..  ::)

Could very well be an excellent car, but for that kind of money, I personally wouldn't take the gamble.

What makes you sure Heartbeat cars has Edward Lee's behind it? I know he pheonixed Edward Lee's and then started sunrise cars, but not sure about Heartbeat. Thought it was a younger bloke running it, seen him driving the cars around, not seen the fat man in em' hehe.

Unless Lee's has fronted the Capital and watching on from a distance?

Should of put a better caveat my apologies.

I cannot say i'm 100% sure that heart beat has affiliations with Edward Lees, however within the past year a number of import yards  have closed, popped up, change names, etc.. it's hard to keep track. Just did a quick check of ABNs, can't see a link as it was only registered in July this year.

However, I don't know about anyone else here and maybe i'm being very judgemental.. but Parramatta Road is the last place I would go to spend 80K on an import given the circumstances. IMO
