It would almost be a shame to remove it from it's long slumber in that grass.

Maybe move it to a barn and then advertise as

- Barn Find

- Little Old lady owner

- Deceased estate

- Complete Car - just needs a little work

???

This one is still for sale

If it's as good as it looks body wise then it would be a good buy at $15k, would not cost much to put a L back in it if that's really necessary. Personally I'd keep it as is.

Agreed it's a bargain if the body presents in person as well it as does in photos. Those door trims have gotta be super rare, you can still find them in black but in that brown (or white) it's almost impossible. You have to re-dye a set. The brown interior is very rare. Although it is probably also what puts people off haha. :)

Seller's Comment

For sale is a rare example of the Datsun 240Z in very good condition with many desirable classic modifications. 15 Years ago the car was purchased (by my business partner/best friend) being fully restored and engineered with a Nissan L28 engine, triple Webber carburetors and Recaro classic leather seats. It was used on weekends regularly up until 6 years ago when the engine gave way. Since then it was put into storage with grand plans. Fast forward 5 years, the car still sitting in storage collecting dust at which stage I purchased it with ambition to bring it back to it's glory days. The body, interior, wheels, suspension was left as is, more on that below, but a lot of attention was put on the drive train and engine, and anything connected to that. I have spent close to $25K over the last 12 months to bring it to it's current condition, which is a bullet proof reliable weekend warrior. Never raced, the car has been driven regularly and any issues to date quickly resolved which if far and few these days. It is very hard to let this car go, but you can thank the Sydney's property market for having to put it on the market. Endless nights online sourcing the parts needed from all corners of the globe only the best was purchased as there was not intention to sell.

- The Air-conditioning compressor has a small leak somewhere therefore the compressor will need to be re-sealed and re-gassed.

- The suspension is very hard so every bump will be felt.

- Webbers will need a proper tune, they have not been tuned for 5 years. (it starts well, and runs good, but I feel it can have more power)

Timely given the recent discussion on the Globe Bathurst style wheels!

Those are Simmons B45s. Popular on Aussie muscle cars and found on a lot of rotary coupe's.

I didn't think we got 907 Green in 1973. A quick check and the car is apparently listed as a Blue 73 240z coupe.

Can you see the keychain tag on the steering column?

I am pretty sure 432 had a ignition barrel not on the steering column.

Just saying.

With this blokes history it would not surprise me at all.

432R had the relocated ignition barrel, 432 had the conventional one

Thread going nuts here:

Although I may merge it here or in the thread decided to Edward Lee's shenanigans for better search engine visibility. :)
